PPI claims 1990 where to start

Hi there

I think I had PPI on an Egg card (not details though and also a Virgin One mortgage and Barclays Loan. I remember roughly when I had them and my address at the time - do I have a chance in claiming? I have read about sending an SAR - what is this and is there a template letter that I can use (I have read these are free from 25/5/18?). These claims would be for late 90's.

Thanks for any advice offered

You complain to whoever sold you the account. Egg are split between Canada Square and Barclaycard depending on the dates. You need to see if either of them have any records of you left.

    Barclays go to Barclays

    Virgin One go to Virgin

A SAR is a request for all the details they hold on you, it's not needed for a complaint unless they can't find any details on the first level of support and you want to trawl their history

Do note though if the accounts are from the 90s unless the account was closed recently chances are they won't have any records left so the complaint won't go anywhere
