Wondering if it reads:
- First he persuades me into buying a bit of land with That Thing on it in the front garden ("Because it's so cheap and I'm sure you'll never notice it after a while")
- Then the money runs short and we have to move into it before it's ready
- Then I get fed-up with him taking his time/starting a bit here and a bit there - and right now we're heading for the divorce courts.0 -

The bottom fell out of the executive house market in that location in 2008. I don't imagine there are enough executives in the area, or that those who exist want to live among the self-builds.
The agent shows their inexperience by speaking of 'renovation,' when all it needs is finishing. No sign of incompetence in the work done. I have seen much, much worse.0
