    misstara's debt diary 2018 30th Dec 17 at 11:01 PM
Almost 4 years ago I started a debt free diary called misstara's debt diary 2014. At that time I was over 10,000 in debt which was paid off earlier this year . I've decided to start a new diary as I've run up new debt although this time due to moving into a new flat that had to be furnished and buying a car.

The current debt stands at 1229.67 flat debt, 748.10 initial car debt (deposit and insurance) and 8663.38 car (split into 58 monthly payments of 146.82 and a final payment of 147.82) which adds up to a whopping 10641.15 it's actually more than my original debt

This year, I feel like I've got out of some of the MSE habits that I'd picked up so need to properly get back into meal planning, budgeting my pay (I still do this but then am not so strict with following it), making mini payments to the debt, NSDs etc.

Going to head to bed shortly but the plan for tomorrow is make a budget for January, look at days where I could possibly work for 2nd job so I can phone them when they reopen on Wed (I've not worked a shift for them for ages but it will be good to get some extra cash) and make a meal plan for next week.

Didn't realise it had been almost a week since I last posted. Work has been crazy - I've worked about 25 hours overtime in the last 6 days so absolutely shattered. Pay next month should be good though

This week should be better (famous last words ) so will be back to posting more regularly.

Off work for 4 days starting from yesterday . It was a NSD on Tuesday then Wednesday I spent 11.99 on a wee present for OH and 2.25 on a card. Yesterday was a quite a spendy day - 46.57 in the supermarket (30ish on food and the rest on cleaning products including a pair of heavy duty rubber gloves so that I can clean the mud out of the drain on our path - a job that I'm looking forward to tackling today ), 6 on a pair of turquoise pumps, 5.99 on a pair of jeans (had a 10 gift card which went towards them), 20 contribution towards SIL's birthday present and 19.45 on a Chinese takeaway (OH's birthday treat). Today should be a NSD

This morning I've been to the gym, away to go out into the garden before I get showered so will clean out the drain and pick up any old leaves. Rest of the day, planning to potter about the flat, get the ironing done and sort through my clothes.

I got paid 44.16 from 2nd job today so have put 4.16 towards the debt and 40 towards the girly weekend in Edinburgh next month. The accommodation is 50 and then will need some spending money.

I've added 20 spent onto the grocery budget in my signature as I spent around this on little bits and pieces during the last week or so when it was super busy at work, just not having the energy to cook so grabbing something quick on the way home. It means that there's now less than 25 left in that budget so will have to be inventive for the rest of the month.

My bank balance looks a bit at the moment but I'm due back 89 from work for some things that I bought so will look healthier again on Monday.

Right better go tackle this drain it's a beautiful sunny day here although fairly cold, hope you all have sunshine where you are

NSDs yesterday and today . Tomorrow definitely won't be as we need petrol and milk.

Went for a lovely long walk round one of the local parks yesterday. Debated about going for a coffee in the cafe but saved our cash and waited until we got home. Today I've done a shift for 2nd job so should get around 50 on Friday and read my book.

I've sorted through about half my clothes and will do the rest tomorrow. Already have a bag's worth to take to the charity shop.

Forgot to say in my post the other day - I treated myself to some new nail polishes and an eyebrow kit paid for by B00ts points. One of the nail polish is a lovely bronze colour and the other a top coat. Claims that it will last up to 14 days if used together, a bit skeptical about this but still looking good after 2 days

Not much else to report - starting work early tomorrow so best get off to bed.

Yesterday I treated myself and got my eyebrows waxed and tinted - 21.50 but they look fab . Today I've spent 34.08 on petrol and 4.20 on milk, teabags and chocolate. I've also made a 2.49 payment to the debt.

Gone over the food budget again - I'm going to set it again at 150 next month and see how I get on but might have to increase it if I still struggle. Feel like 150 for 2 adults should be enough but I guess buying gluten and dairy free for me pushes up costs. I was recently at the hospital and they want to retest for celiac using an endoscopy. It would mean eating gluten for a month which I'm not looking forward to but I guess at least food costs will be cheaper for a wee bit

I also spent 67.54 on a belated birthday gift for OH. Bit more than I'd hoped for but he asked for some new clothes so we went shopping today.

I got 52.08 from 2nd job today so 2.08 paid to the debt and 50 towards next weekend. I've now got the accommodation costs put aside and I've bought the travel tickets (33.80) which means so far I've got a grand total of 6.20 saved for spending money I've picked up a shift with 2nd job tomorrow which will get me 40ish and I get paid from main job on Tuesday so will budget more money from that.

I get paid 1654.50 on Tuesday and will work out a budget tomorrow. Off to bed just now as early start tomorrow.

Did shift for 2nd job this morning, got home around lunchtime and OH made yummy bacon rolls for lunch then got called into main job due to crisis so didn't get anything else done.

Must sort out budget for March before payday on Tuesday and flat needs a proper clean so that's tomorrow's jobs sorted.

Ok budget is done - 1694.50
    - 1000 usual bills (no council tax again )
    - 146.82 car repayment
    - 150 food
    - 20 cleaning
    - 150 weekend away/social
    - 50 car fund
    - 45 emergency fund
    - 92.68 debt repayment

Instead of budgeting 150 for all groceries, this month I'm budgeting 150 for food and an additional 20 for cleaning stuff, toilet rolls, etc.

This month, I've got the weekend away, a night out with the girls and a hen night planned so not sure if 150 will cover it, may need to add to it from 2nd job.

92.68 debt repayment is split 60 to new flat debt and 32.68 to car debt.

I will need to start putting money aside for the wedding (May) and family holiday (July). Me and OH would also like to go away for a weekend again probably to Edinburgh again, thinking May/June. So lots of saving to do

Today has been a NSD. Planning to sit down with OH tomorrow and do a meal plan. Just to clean the flat now.

Just realised I've been an idiot and not budgeted anything for petrol . I'll use whatever I get from 2nd job on Friday to go towards this and hopefully the electricity bill won't be as high as what I've got saved.

Spent 26.41 in the supermarket today and transferred 15 deposit for the hen night. Flat is finally clean

NSD 2 today . My weekend away to Edinburgh with the girls has been cancelled due to the weather really disappointed but we're hopefully rescheduling for April. Going to spend a relaxing weekend with OH instead.

Tomorrow will be a spendy day as I need to pay rent and the electricity bill. I also need to buy a new phone as I dropped mine earlier today and the screen is smashed so that will probably be my emergency fund wiped out. Ah well at least it's not adding the debt.

Forgot to say in last post I got paid 40.32 from 2nd job today so 40 for petrol and paid the 32p to the debt along with 3 bank account reward.

I'm going to pay the electricity bill tomorrow. I plan to pay the 5.47 to the debt to take it to under 10k and that will leave 60 for petrol.

    Thanks INOD

Yesterday I paid the rent and electricity bill. I also spent 90 on a new phone, 1 on milk and 1 on washing up liquid.

Budgets so far this month are
    27.41/150 food
    1/20 cleaning/toilet rolls
    0/60 petrol
    15/150 social

I'm meeting a friend for lunch today but have plenty in the social budget to cover. Then I'm going into work to cover the late shift as there's a bug going round at the moment.

I discovered that one of my tyres had a puncture yesterday so took it up to the garage. Got there just before closing and they're shut today so won't get the car back until tomorrow. Not sure yet how much it will cost but there's 150 saved in the car fund so that will cover it. Annoyed that I've had to dip into the emergency fund and car fund when I've barely started them but I guess that's what they are there for and at least I don't have to put anything onto a credit card.
