Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Good Luck Everyone

    Last week I finished £84.15/£100.

This week I'm off to London on Friday so will end up spending there but that's all budgeted for, so I'm going to aim for a £10 spend from today until Thursday night
  • Managed 40 last week!! Which is good because that's my target this week due to having to shelling out for a train ticket!
    NatWest Loan- 5000
    Virgin credit card- 7000

Fingers crossed I don't spend quite £25 tomorrow on groceries as I've just had an unexpected spend! £5.50 on a Chinese, £10 on electric meter and £2.29 on marg and a slab of mince at the corner shop! Whoops!

    Total spend so far is

    £47.79/£100

I do have a problem though! I took out the cash to last me all week and in a mad rush of going to the shop collecting the Chinese and hurrying back I've managed to lose a £10 note!! So instead of having £52.21 left in my purse I only have £42.21! I'm hoping I have lost it in the car and it's just on the floor somewhere! Fingers crossed otherwise ten pound will already be spoken for! And then I definitely won't come in within budget cos pretty much all of it is spoken for if DDs gymnastic fees are due tomorrow!

    Hi All

I managed well last week with:

    £15/£5.36

£15 again for me this week please. I'm trying to save up for an airbrush compressor which is about £60 so my left over money will go towards that! :)
