Third Party Claims vs Insurance Application

Hi, I know this one has done the rounds but my specific 'incident' is a bit different. A neighbour drove into my garden wall causing 1500 pounds of damage. I was able to claim on their car insurance. Do I have to declare that when signing up for car or home insurance?
