* Charity donation gets Powertools software for free*

I've no connection whatsoever with the Finnish software company, Macecraft, other than as a computer user who first installed its then free jv16 Powertools software a dozen years ago. It was the first software of its kind and took its name from the initials and age of its then 16-year-old inventor. Since then it's become a yardstick via which every other so-called 'optimisation' software suite should be measured, both freeware and paid-for.
Macecraft releases a new edition of jvPowertools every year and the current paid-for fully featured app costs $30. It's here:
http://www.macecraft.com/
However. . . what the website home page doesn't say is that elsewhere on the site is a special offer:
http://www.macecraft.com/donation-promo/
Simply donate the equivalent of $7 to Macecraft's nominated Finnish charity and the company will provide the full version of jvPowertools 2012 free of charge.
If you can afford £4.40p (or thereabouts) then this is one of the best-buy investments around for a sensible computer user.
