    1. Google Voice is only available in the USA (legally) so I would avoid it.
    2. Buying an Obi200 from ebay is a bad idea because it it has been already registered to Google Voice, you cannot do it again. (Some of the "New" stock are actually returns which the first customer has registered so effectively blocked)
    3. Obihai the company that makes them has been bought out in the last 6 months and the company that took them off has itself been bought out. So product plans are fluid.
    4. Read DSL Reports VOIP forum for the latest mad things that Obihai are up to https://www.dslreports.com/forum/voip

Just to say that I own an Obi200 (UK version) which is no longer sold (indeed they are currently not selling any of their products into the UK)
It is used for VOIP only (Not Google Voice) and is my only voice line.
It has performed reasonably for some 3 years but when it dies, I will buy a Gigaset VOIP adaptor as I feel that I cannot trust Obihai to support anyone.

There are lots of other VoIP providers, which offer UK numbers, and adapters or phones to use.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    Different scenario.
With the Obi devices, Google insist you are based in the USA and offers a range of services akin to a traditional VOIP provider.
With the mini's, Google allow some other countries to have voice calls and only certain types of calls can be made. MUCH more restrictive on what can be done.
But the way things work and who can use what, vary by the product. Under Google's rules.
The Obi devices are really flexible while the home ones aren't.

Even before that they never blocked an account I had for years, carried in from Grand Central.
