600k mortgage doesn't sound right though!

Estimating postage for ebay makes me nervous, i feel like I might end up paying to get rid of things.

We've had our final vet visit now, with not enough improvement to suggest he can get better in the long term. I'm a bit heartbroken to say the least, it really wasn't the end I had in mind for him.

And after lots of back and forthing, we've decided that neither of us want to live in my flat, so between us finding a new place to rent, sorting out tenants and being a landlord, new job and the onset of winter, I will be horse free for a while. The horsebox needed to be sold anyway, which will provide the bulk of my 10% OP limit for the year, leaving us with a boring but necessary 12 months of saving up for a house that I intend to instantly fill with animals.

FD I've been lurking in the shadows, but wanted to offer my utmost condolences on your horse. I have been there before with horses (big ridden ones, small pet ones) and just this week also had to have my beloved cat PTS. It's truly heartbreaking especially I think in a lameness scenario. It is a hard decision but sounds like a very brave one. Thinking of you.

So sorry to hear that, FD. :( I've been there before and it's always heart-wrenching.

I hope all the housing/job stuff goes smoothly.

So sorry to hear this. It is heartbreaking. And a tough call. Good for you for making the decision. Roll on that farmhouse ....
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thank you very much for all your thoughts. I decided to seek out a 2nd opinion, mostly for my own reassurance, but he agreed with the other vet. We could keep trying and he might show signs of improvement before going lame again and it was just cause more heartache, time and money for everyone. Hoss is currently enjoying pony paracetamol and lots of grass and sunshine for a few days.

I have finally got a session to sign all the paperwork and get the flat on the rental market tomorrow and it seems like BF's landlord has over-egged the price as we haven't had any viewings to worry about. So all normal in Floppy land, though I'm going to have to come up with some new hobbies!

I hope Hoss enjoys his sunshine and grass. Sorry the second opinion wasn't different. :(
