Privately messaged a business on Facebook and they didn't keep the info private. Is this legal?

So basically I have been looking at hiring a new room for one of my classes I run so I messaged around a few local rooms. Unbeknownst to me one of the women who has read the messages has passed on the information to someone else who I already hire a room from and they are very annoyed that I might be looking elsewhere, which isn't the case at all I just need another space.

Is what she did legal due to privacy laws?

Thanks

You wanted rooms, the person you messaged contacted someone who had rooms.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

were you dealing only with registered companies?
what "personal data" has been mishandled?

if you ask a question on social media you can hardly complain if some kind hearted soul tries to help you by doing some searching for you, unless you set out very clearly a list of what help you wanted and want actions others were not to take.

and of course in a direct reflection of modern life, you are now seeking to blame someone else?
