The returns from stock photography have been going down for some years. For example I started with Alamy in 2004 the average sale price for my pictures for the first few years were 2005 $134, 2006 $108 2007 $125 2008 $106. From this I received 65% for most of the sales. Last year 2017 the average sale price for my pictures had dropped to $31 and the 65% share had dropped to 50%.
I would be inclined to try to get in with a specialist agency if possible,in my experience things are a bit better with them. Have a look here in the nature section.
