    .....25/11/2018 ......
I have decided to update as its been ages since I started this thread and so much has changed including my priorities.....

We gained a puppy after starting this thread and although she is a handful she has given me something to focus on and to get up for each day.

DS split from one long-term gf and is now several months into a new relationship and started a new job and seems very happy.

Sadly DM passed away suddenly this year and I miss her every day. Then DF was seriously ill in hospital with sepsis and almost died but thankfully he found the strength to pull through and is making a full recovery physically. We are supporting one another emotionally as a family.

I started this thread with the focus on saving some money. That hasn't happened and I have ended up with some debt on a 0% credit card but it is being paid off as planned and I am still managing to pay all bills and still have some money to spend with friends. I am planning to start saving for an emergency fund in the new year 2019.

Had to take poor puppy dog to vet today as her poor face swelled up. Vet thinks she ate a bee or wasp she had an injection and her temperature taken and was not impressed ! She has slept most of yhe afternoon after the antihistamine and the swelling does seem to have gone down a little. We had one free vet consult on the plan DS pays for and so cost was just for injection 13

Puppy dog is a bit better today her face is less swollen bless her

I got a 5 credit from just eat today for a meal that took an hour and a half to arrive and cost 8.50.

Checked the air in my tyres ready to go away on Saturday. 50p.

I have arranged to go to lunch tomorrow with friends and will use my credit card and pay it off with August entertainment fund. Should be under 10

    Payday yesterday

Met with a friend and we shared an indian with the 5 credit from just eat it was 7.50 between us She had a bottle of parma violet gin which was lovely (with tonic ... only had 1 hic)

Today I met another friend for lunch at our local pub. We had 2 for 9.99 and a bottle of Rose Cider 4.45 nearly same price as meal but was a huge bottle with ice lasted ages. The meal took an hour to arrive so they gave us free dessert

Had a snooze this afternoon then hoovered the house and car and cleaned inside of car ready to go up north at the weekend. Black interior does not go well with an andrex puppy dog. Just need to check tyres & get petrol and pack. Puppy dog is staying home with DS & his gf

    I hope puppy has recovered.

When we were kids our dog was stung and didn't understand he thought mum had walloped him and couldn't understand how she did it from the other side of the garden. He was so upset I think more than from the bite as he thought mum had hit him.

I am glad you saw your friends and ate out. I had fishnchips a few times.

Good luck driving to your dads and I hope you have some chilling time too.

Arrived home yesterday after a lovely relaxing time away visiting family. Am so lucky, DF would not let me pay for anything and gave me petrol money so that takes a bit of pressure off this month.

Had a problem with my tyre going down but DF knew a place to go and it was fixed for 10 wish we had garages like that here in the south !

Collected 5 x 15kg bags of dog food 120 paid for by DS, saving 60 when compared to food we used to buy here in the south. I brought 3 back and DF will bring the other 2 next time he comes to stay.

Have just fed puppy dog and she is snoozing. She is all better now. She was pleased to see me yesterday think she may have missed me !

Today I need to go food shopping. I have 20 vouchers from work which I can use in Iceland so I will go there for a change. I usually go to aldi but can't turn down free food

I'm surprised how tired I was yesterday after my holiday

Had a lovely dog walk on the common it was sunny but cool. There are masses of apples on the trees and blackberries are coming.

I shopped at Iceland which cost 24 and I used the 20 voucher. There is a mixture of frozen & fresh, veg & salad. I have enough for a week with a few things that will carry over, but I will then go back to aldi as Iceland was more expensive.

Pottered around for the rest of the day. 2 loads washing done & dried outside. Scrubbed patio and washed dog paddling pool. She jumped in once I had finished and went to lie in the shade it was quite hot in the afternoon. It cooled down around 5pm so took her for second walk. It's darker and cooler in the mornings and evenings now, feels like autumn. Rain is forecast for today. Will walk puppy dog around 9am then I have an optician appointment at 11. I haven't been for 4 years at least it will be free.

Welcome back! I am not surprised you were tired after the holiday as you did a looong drive. I think the idea of getting gift vouchers is great especially when it means you have low price food shop. Good luck at the opticians.

2 dog walks in the rain today. Free eyetest at specsavers and walked away with my prescription. I am trying to find glasses that I like using the MSE 2 pairs for 17 offer. Tomorrow I am out for a walk with a friend in the afternoon. DS & his gf are off work so they will walk the dog. It is forecast to be sunny so lets hope this rain is gone. Feels like winter tonight I have put my quilt back on my bed as it is getting chilly at night.

Lovely weather today went for a walk with a friend along the coast 2 drinks in pub 5.20 and Indian on way home 6. Just over my 10 aim but was a lovely day and will be paid from my entertainment budget. Tomorrow I am meeting 2 other friends for lunch at a pub I have not been to before but they assure me the food is cheap so will aim for 10 again.

I couldn't find frames I liked on the 2 glasses for 17 deal. I need reading glasses and everyday distance glasses. I went up to 69 range and got one pair free (25 in the sale) with the MSE code came to total of 37 with free delivery ! 37 is a bargain for 2 pairs with lenses and different prescriptions.

I spent more than expected but had a great time with friends today. I had fish & Chips & diet coke 8.49 then had treacle sponge & custard and cup of tea 5.20. Ah well it was my last day of my holiday from work and the weather was cold and wet so stodgy comfort food was yummy !

I have paid 50 to my 0% credit card. That leaves me 67 till payday. I need Petrol 20 & approx 2 weeks food 20-25 a week so should be on budget.

Saturday - The weather was dry with sunny spells and a nice cool breeze. 2 dog walks done morning and evening - 1 & 1/2 hours walking. Dropped bottles / jars at bottle bank.
Shopping 13.79 milk bread etc for next week, back at work Monday after 2 weeks off. I went to morrisons as it's the nearest to me with plenty of parking. Also got some frozen chicken livers 89p which are lovely pan fried with sage from my garden. Will have them for Sunday lunch.
1 load of washing line dried & put away. Dog room carpet, kitchen tiled floor & dog room sofas hoovered.
Pizza & garlic bread from the Iceland shopping for tea.
DS & his gf came in from work so left them to get their own dinner and look after dog & I collapsed on sofa in living room and caught up on some recorded TV

Sunday - it's dark this morning. Let dog out at 5am and fed her. She's now snoozing so after emptying the dishwasher I'm back in bed with a cup of tea. DS & gf will be up soon & off to work at 7am. I will have a few more hours sleep then walk the dog around 9am. My friend is coming to pick up some old paving slabs for a pond base and wants to walk puppy dog with me. She must be mad puppy dog is still crazy !! Lol.

Apart from that I need to cut the grass today if it stays dry & scrub the patio with disinfectant. I need to do some more shredding too. Today should be a NSD.

I was out walking the dog during that massive downpour
Friend came and took 6 unwanted paving slabs. Had a coffee and chat.
Had chicken livers in port with sage & garlic with spiralli pasta for lunch. Someone bought DS the port for Xmas about 3 years ago neither of us drink it but it's good for cooking, garlic from DF allotment, sage from my garden.
Have just got back from second dog walk in the sun this time !
2 loads of washing dried on line. Have been resting in between ready for work tomorrow.
