Registered Design assistance

Good morning all

Myself and a partner are looking to register a new design for a product that we would like to bring to market. We are new to product design and selling.
We have drafted the paperwork required to send off the design (Including the drawings) but was just wondering if there is any value in consulting a specialist in registered design applications or is the advice generally for helping to fill out the applications?
For people that have had experience of using a specialist (or is one), was the service worth it?

Thank you :)

Note your product, if it meets certain criteria, will have automatic design right protection without you registering the design : See:

If you consult anyone, I would suggest you talk to a lawyer who specialises in registered design protection claims. Their advice could be vital in registering the design in such a way as to make protecting the design easier. Sorry I can't recommend any such lawyer to you, you'll have to look around yourself. I'd start with lawyers who specialise in intellectual property law.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
