  • Had a bit of a spendy day today. I went into town after work and collected my glasses, will try them over next few days. Cost £0
Had lunch in KFC, mini fillet burger, 2 hot wings & fries £1.99 paid from entertainment budget. Then got a no-loss bristle paint brush for decorating £3, a black printer ink cartridge £10 and a new kitchen clock silver with white face & silver numbers & hands bargain £6. When I got to the till the printer ink was reduced by £2.50 so the bill was only £16.50 :D paid from household bills budget.

  • Yum to nice food bargains. You may have had a spendy day but you bought things you needed. £1.99 for a KFC is amazing.

It is great when you find money. :j We are almost half way through the week. Hurrah.:T

  • Hi SW I think the KFC is called a "fill up lunch" it doesn't include a drink but is a good price for the food :p

Rubbish day at work today at least it's almost the weekend. I have just ordered flowers for someone off work due to bereavement £30 on my credit card. I have collection money of £26 in pound coins ! Plus my contribution £4. I doubt I will get to the bank so I will use the pound coins for food and transfer £26 from my food budget and £4 from birthdays/Xmas account to pay off the credit card purchase.

Was so fed up I bought chocolate in co-op when I popped in for milk :o must get some willpower ! Nice weather forecast for weekend :T it's been quite cold at times this week.

It was very warm yesterday but I managed not to buy ice cream :p it was a NSD. Instead I
Walked dog on common. Picked a couple of sweet juicy apples from trees on the common and shared them with the dog :D
    2 loads washing dried outside
    Scrubbed patio
Cleaned out & refilled dog paddling pool
    Did some decluttering
Had a snooze:o then watched TV
    Did some gardening
2nd dog walk 6pm across the road to the park where she ran around after her ball
    All food from stores

    Carried over to today

    Hoover dog room/kitchen
    Get wallpaper down from loft.

    Also to do today
    Walk dog
iron 5 pairs work trousers (quick press) everything else is non-iron & has been hung up in wardrobe / put away.
    Wash towels

Shopping tomorrow, have made a list. Still to eat from stores today & tomorrow morning

    1 portion cereal
    2 pots instant porridge
    3 bread rolls
1 egg - will hard boil for work tomorrow on 1 roll with mayo
1 portion mango yoghurt - take to work tomorrow
1 portion pulled pork - lunch today on 1 bread roll
1 lasagne & 2 slices garlic bread - dinner tonight
rhubarb from freezer & Natural yoghurt in fridge - will have some of this for dessert with a drizzle of honey from store cupboard

Weather forecast is good today, but hot later so I will walk dog soon before it gets hot & after it cools this evening.

  • Good morning. It was glorious yesterday well done on doing so much. Especially the ironing:j

Hope the weather is just as good today and that you rest a bit.:j

  • I went shopping on Monday and spent £32.96 in aldi including 2 packs of batteries £3 and clothes washing liquid. My budget is £25 a week and some of the stuff I bought will last both the remaining 2 weeks before payday, so I have £17.04 left for milk, fruit etc next week.

I have just paid £50 off my 0% credit card and will update my signature once the statement updates online.

On Friday I am having my hair done :j Cut, base colour & foils will be £42 paid from bills account monthly savings. I have it done approx. every 2 months so around £21 a month.

We are dog sitting for the next 2 weeks so we have 2 dogs at home now ! They are both well behaved together so shouldn't be too much trouble !!

I am hoping to do something nice at the weekend even though I don't have any money left in the entertainment budget. DS & gf are taking the dogs to the woods so I wont be dog walking and need to think of something cheap & cheerful to do.

I also want to deep clean my bedroom & wash my winter quilt on Saturday as its meant to be quite a hot day it should dry on the line and then be freshened up and ready to put on the bed when the weather turns cold again.

  • I have been trying to buy spray weedkiller but it seems B&M and home bargains have taken all the gardening stuff off the shelves for Halloween & Christmas stuff instead :(

So, I am trying a DIY weedkiller of table salt, about 20p worth from Aldi and 6 kettles of boiling water 15p. (electric cost 2.5p per full kettle of boiling water per online search). Pour salt on roots & wash in with water from kettle. Hopefully it will kill all the weeds in between the paving slabs in my garden path ! The dogs are kept off the garden & on the patio by a picket fence so they are safe and can't lick up any salt.
