Totally agree with hopeful Angelic - he's your son you do what YOU think is right for him at the time. x

I think I shouldhave taken him a couple of months ago but I'm still really freaked out by the idea, I don't know what I'm likely to see and a huge part of me putting off taking him was me being too freaked about it :o

Have messed up my budget this week (where's that confused smilie when you need it?!?) I included ex's maintenance payment that should've been paid the end of the month and hasn't arrived surprise surprise and now I've had to take some money out of my ISA :( am just going to delete his payments in my monthly budget thingy and if I get them its a bonus it's not worth the stress - sent him a snotty text last night cos if I'd rang him I'd have given him the satisfaction of knowing he'd peed me off!! what a !!!! he is!!!

Pad today is 42p jar and £5 cap1 cc got my statement yesterday and they've charged me nearly £80 interest :mad::mad::mad: they put it up to over 30% last month barstewards :eek:

Well I'm sure your not the only one whose felt like that Angelic and the so called professionals should know how you must be feeling.

If I was you I'd just go along with an open mind and see what it's like, you don't have to go again if you don't like it or you don't think it's going to benefit Adam.

My uncle is down's and my nan wouldn't let him do a thing, when she died he was about 18 and he couldn't even dress himself! My grandad put him in a day care centre and they taught him how to dress etc and even how to make himself a sandwich and a cup of tea and he made a lot of friends.

How do you stay strong willed without being rude?? :)

It is possible but it has taken me several years of practice lol To be honest if you disagree with some people or express an opinion, they think you're rude no matter how nicely you put it!!! I always find smiling while i'm being strong willed is good 'cause it confuses people :p
One step at a time ;)

Adam is doing really well, I'm letting him fend for himself already. He can kind of get a spoon to his mouth and he can sit up unaided for 2 or 3 seconds now. I'm sure your nan didn't mean to smother your uncle, sometimes I guess (like with all children) you just dson't know what to do for the best.

i know my nan did what she did with the best of intentions and there probably wasn't the help available back then plus he was her youngest child and she just automatically did everything for him. My mother has told me her mum would never let any of them do a thing in the house - hmm my mother didn't take after her cos I had to do loads :D

I can hold the tip of it between the teeth at the side of my mouth (the ones just before the molars - I'm not a dentist so don't know what they're called) whilst I'm smiling!! :rotfl:
