Ohhhhhhhh heck! And it was by far the most comfortable one I have found. But thanks for the reminder. Gutted.
I know you have to be careful about recommending anything, but I wonder if anyone else can suggest an equivalent mattress - equivalent on comfort that is, not price!
Thanks - I want to buy before the budget puts prices up again!!

I'm afraid I'm not allowed to recommend anything. However shop on line, and stay away from the big brands, to get the best quality at the best price. Also buy from a seller with a proper satisfaction guarantee.

Both models have the right density memory foam (V60), although 50mm depth would be better than 70mm, unless you like being very warm in bed.

There is no mention of the springs being of the reflex foam encapsulated type, although it looks like they could be. However it isn't always possible to tell by just looking. If you have found these in a showroom, then try prodding the side of the mattress. If you feel foam rather than springs, then they are reflex foam encapsulated springs, which can be very warm due to limited ventilation.

Both models are non turn, and so won't last as long as a two sided mattress.

So although the prices are high for a non turn mattress (especially if they do contain reflex foam encapsulated pocket springs), they aren't as expensive as many shops would charge.

Furmanac actually specialise in adjustable beds. So it may be the case that they don't even make the mattresses.
  • Hello all, i'm hugely appreciative of all the information on these boards as i've been reading through them for quite some time now trying to decide on a double mattress. I would like pocket sprung but am getting a bit perplexed as to the numerous options available.

A friend had mentioned Kozeesleep are a reasonably reliable brand and after a bit of searching I came across the following on eBay.

Item number 180242211968 (unfortunately as a new member I can't post links, apologies for this). It does however say it is non turn, is this a problem?

Does anyone have any advice as to the quality of this brand or product? I like the idea of pocket sprung with memory foam (even though the memory foam is greater than 2" in depth it would appear the coolmax material may be included to counteract the heat issues this causes (i'm quoting Tim now!).

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

    Bob

Kozeesleep are a good brand. However like most manufacturers they don't do a two sided memory foam mattress. Memory foam is the most expensive part of the mattress, so a two sided pocket sprung and memory foam mattress would cost more, but not a great deal more.

Coolmax is a wicking fabric that takes the moisture away from the body, and stops you feeling as clammy. The better fabrics that control the temperature are Climasmart and Outlast.

Simmons are the same group as Sleepeezee, Nestledown, and Cumfilux. They are low to middle as far as quality goes. You would be much better off going for a smaller independent manufacturer, and buying on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to unpack and sleep on the mattress.

35mm of memory foam isn't worth having. You need 2" (50mm).

I've got a memory foam matress, it's the best! Although I don't want to get out in the mornings... so maybe not the best idea haha

Thanks Tim, your advice is always excellent as I have seen throughout many posts on the boards. Would you say the La Romantica Madrid range would be a better option in that case as this appears to be double sided?
