Now we're back to normal DH has been giving me a single slice of a small loaf so half a HEB. I know I could have another later or an Alpen or something but what if I don't feel like it? I vaguely remember that if you don't have all your HEX you should syn it. Is that true? Did I make that up?

That makes no sense to me at all! Although several of the 'rules' don't so could be right. I'm never in danger of not having my HEXs...

Could I ask for syn advice please? I found some flavoured instant coffees in Aldi today at 2 cals per cup (for the caramel flavour) - would you syn this? I suppose its half a syn if anything??

Never heard that and it wouldn't really make sense. I rarely have my full healthy extras because I'm not allowed that much of them, and my consultant knows that and has never said anything about synning it.

Not seen that in aldi, but I seem to recall flavoured instant in a jar (not the sachets) of a different brand was free.

I've just realised it is exactly a year today since I joined SW!
I went to a group for the first 3 months, and then relied on the support of everyone on this thread (thank you, all).

    So in that year:
I've lost 3 st (but regained 2lb over Christmas)
I've lost 2/3 dress sizes and look better in my clothes
    I feel generally healthier
    My knees don't hurt daily
I can walk uphill without a struggle
I'm easily getting my '5 a day' every day, usually more
I'm eating food I enjoy and I'm only hungry if I miss a meal
My tastes have changed and, with the exception of chocolate, are healthier
I've saved money by planning meals and not buying rubbish
OH has lost half a stone too!

If anyone had told me I'd be able to do this for a whole year (with the occasional lapse!) I wouldn't have believed it. I've still a few lbs to go but I'll do it.

I know I could be preaching to the converted but this does work. Stick with it, those just starting out. It gets easier and becomes 'normal' eventually.
