A while back I signed up to Butler Hill for possible internet work with them. They have just contacted me with an offer for crowd-sourcing job and want my details including bank details for the HR department.

I know I signed up and all that but my question is is this safe? Shall I give them my details? Has anyone any experience with them?

    Thanks

Hey Chardonnay, yep IE for me, did you get logged in in the end?!

I've emailed as well, any word Mike? I know it was said it would build up but I've had two so far :/

I cannot login and have emailed 'crowdhelp' 3 times in the last 48 hours but no reply. It is very frustrating!

Hi Charlie, well it's weird because I can log in on my daughter's pc but not my own - both using IE9!

Sorry you're having trouble logging in too Emmie, it's really frustrating isn't it?! Still, seems we're not missing much at the moment anyway!

I sent an email and got a reply. It said that new tasks will be emailed to us so there is no need to check or email her again. I haven't had any yet.

    Info please
Hi all I have just received an email regarding an application I made over a year ago I think emails were getting lost in spam filter. I'm guessing that you have all signed nda but was hoping someone could advise me on the role and whether the 4 hours a day could be done over the week so by the end of the week they total 20 or are they strict about 4 hours over a 24 hrs period. Also could you tell me what the role involves is it the same as lionbridge? Also what is the rate of pay? Would love to have contact with others going through this process lionbridge got a bit lonely at times so would be nice to have others to chat to. Hope you are all getting on well. Please pm me if you are concerened about the NDA. Thanks

    Crowdsourcing
Hi, i have also been asked to do some crowdsourcing with Appen Butler Hill Group but still not had any work and it's been over a month now! Anybody else started getting work yet?
  • FemmeFatale
Yup, nothing. I emailed them and had a response saying that work will be loaded in the next few weeks and they will email when it is there.

Hope for something to do soon!
  • summer78
Hi all for those that have been assigned crowd sourcing jobs did you get given tests to start off with for web search evaluator?
  • FemmeFatale
It's the same job, and no...I got no test. Still no work though so I have no idea why they are 'recruiting'.
  • summer78
i have been asked to sign a NDA and then will be emailed with an online test that should take an hour. Did you not have to do this?

Hi Summer78, you are applying for a job as Web Search Evaluator so you will be doing tests for Appen Butler Hill. I and i think most of the other people on this forum have applied for the Crowdsourcing contract and no tests are needed for this position....the job you've applied for probably needs tests to be taken and probably pays more too! Anyhow, hope you get through the tests...good luck
  • summer78
Thanks Charsoph for letting me know good luck too hope the work picks up soon

    Hello judges,

And thank you for your interest in working with Appen Butler Hill. We very much appreciate that you took the time to respond to our inquiry and sign the contract for crowdsourcing work with our company.

Unfortunately the tasks for your market have been delayed. We do not have an estimated date of when the tasks will be loaded, but we will send an email announcement to all as soon as work is available. At that time, we will also resend all information to access the tool and tasks.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please send them to crowdhelp@appenbutlerhill.com. We will notify you as soon as tasks are available.

My sincere thanks, and apologies again for the delay.

Anyone doing their current transcription job? It's good fun, and straightforward, but I'm finding the 'labels' you have to categorise each utterance aren't saving... anyone else? What should I do? Keep going or wait? Don't want to have to redo them all but equally, I'm impatient to crack on. Have emailed them but not heard back...

Honestly it is repetitive and boring at times, but on the flip side it is quick to go through once you've got the hang of the task you're doing. I do it when hubby is hogging the TV with his xbox
