Make £10 a Day February 2017 - Everybody most welcome to join 30th Jan 17 at 8:17 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 114th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir for keeping the thread going.

I know this first post is long, but please read as it give tips on how this challenge works. Some of the content has changed

If you're new to the challenge don't be scared - here's how it works:

The aim of this challenge is to make £10 extra a day everyday for the month. A lot of people think this is impossible but it can and has been done, over and over. If you feel £10 is too much why not start at £5 or if you're brave join those who aim for £20 a day! Anything extra you make is great so set whatever target you think you can manage.

It also doesn't have to be £10 each and every day - some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for £280 extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:
    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:,, webuybooks, zapper, CEX

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything.

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet,, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

also join Topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Sealed Pot Challenge 2016 - basically you put your change into a jar over the year so in December you should have a nice pot of money to help

Mobile phone to recycle? try Martin's mobile recycling comparison site first to see where you may get the best deal!

Music Magpie - have cds/dvds you haven't been able to sell at carboots or online. Try your luck here. Is you do sell your albums/dvds be sure to go via quidco to get a few more pennies

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Collect Boots points while shopping online.

Don't forget to search for your online shop at before you buy, and earn nectar points for buying online, including ebay.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make £280 (or any amount of course!) lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it. She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

We can and we will do it. Who's in?

A must for all newbies if you are not already doing any of these:

    1. Apply to PineconeResearch here. They pay a guaranteed £3 per survey. You are never screened out, they don't send out lots, but when you get one, you know you will be paid within a few days.

    2. Apply to Shop and Scan - this is not the same as Nielsen Home Shopping Scanner. Shop and Scan is a hand held scanner, that you scan the barcodes of your shopping, you are paid 1100 points weekly for scanning, nothing if you are on holiday. You can cash out for various vouchers at 10000 points. Not much work for a good reward. They also send emails with questionnaires that are worth extra points.

    3. Quidco and topcashback toolbar notifiers - a must have for those who forget to check for cashback when browsing online before buying.

    4. Printable coupon thread

    5. Referral board

    6. Freebies, no spends required

    7. Ebay, Carboot and Jumble Sales Board

Links to useful money making sites for codes/points/assistance.

Welcome, wishies_x. We're a friendly bunch on here so if there's anything you'd like to know just ask. You'll be making money in no time. Good Luck

Welcome back to all the regulars and people who've not been around for a while through other commitments. Real Life has a nasty habit of scuppering the best of plans sometimes doesn't it?

No money actually made so far on Day 1 for me but I took part in an online focus group last night which was great fun but my brain ached at the end. I've never typed so quickly in my life in order to keep up with the comments and responses. Will bring in £40 in Amazon vouchers in the next few days

I can't spot any local-ish (nothing is really local where I live 'out in the sticks') tabletop sales this weekend apart from one which is 20 miles away and with so little support that I'd barely cover the cost of petrol and table fee. Needless to say I'm not going to bother going. Will use my 'spare' Saturday morning to explore more ways I can find to make a bit more money online.

Act quickly, £10 off gift cards
Quick heads up in case you haven't read Martin's email today.

£10 discount on gift cards for new subscribers to Zeek (voucher/gift card resale site). Loads of retailers to choose from.

Just joined, bought a £40 card which was discounted anyway and got the £10 off as well. Bargain

Can have eVouchers or a physical card posted out to you. I'm getting the card sent so won't claim the money yet until it comes.

Act quickly, there's a limited number of Martin's £10 off codes (which is MSE10 by the way)

    Good Luck

I've never tried this challenge before, but I am planning to clear out our loft and hopefully find stuff to sell. Can I join - I'm hoping the challenge will motivate me to get this much put off job done

I'm going to aim for the £10 p/day.
