MGM Grand - 9 nights - 4 nights free/comped for a total cost of $306 (total for whole 9 day stay!) plus resort fees and taxes of $419 making a total cost of $725 PLUS $50 resort credit AND $50 freeplay.
No personal experience but heard from different people that it is possible without any problems. Off on 28th Feb, trip No. 16 to Vegas.
Staying first 4 nights in The D, downtown, and then last 3 nights on the Strip, still waiting for some deals from Mlife or TR before I book them.
It's been 2 years since my last visit, getting serious withdrawl symptoms now.

Booking a 3 week trip road trip in March.
LAX- Palm Springs/Joshua Tree- Laughlin (quick overnighter stop)- Grand Canyon South Rim- Lake Powell- Zion- Vegas- Victorville (quick overnighter stop)- San Diego- wine county somewhere for a couple of nights somewhere before flight back out of LAX (maybe San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles areas)
Vegas portion is 2 nights comped at MGM Grand via MyVegas. Only hotel available for our dates and never stayed there before so good to try somewhere new. OH wasn't fussed about stopping in Vegas at all this trip but it fits nice with the itinerary and we will be elsewhere in the daytime (Hoover Dam & Red Rock Canyon) with Vegas buffets/drinks/casino in the evenings. It was a good compromise considering I would happily spend longer there. Will probably do the neon sign museum this time too on our check out morning.
We now live in Fuerteventura so tend to get good choice of reasonable flights from mainland Spain. Ryanair to Madrid returns are €25 each. Madrid to Los Angeles direct with Iberia £290 each. We've hired a car with Dollar via AutoEurope for £375 for the full 3 weeks.
Its slightly off topic, but if anyone has done any of the hiking trails in Red Rock we'd be grateful for a recommendation- there's quite a few to choose from (2-3hrs ideally).0 -

I liked it there, but maybe do your research and see if it's what you're after
(but it would save you travelling north of LA (just to then go back to LAX))

We're normally booked by now, but somehow aren't yet. Flights aren't cheap. BA coming up at £500 or so, but they don't include any luggage etc, so it pushes the usual deal up to £600.
We had been thinking about staying doing a bit of a road trip to Monument Valley etc. Also finding that very expensive - a recommended hotel 'The View' is coming out at £270 per night (only need one night there), but other stops along the way aren't cheap either. 5 nights hotels for the road trip are probably likely to cost close to £800. So not quite sure.
We also usually stay at Platinum, but won't be staying there this year after last year's stay ended unpleasantly. So, we need to decide I guess!
We've booked a cruise for May. We usually book Vegas first then get an early summer holiday sorted after.0 -

When are you looking to go? Booked a few weeks ago for a late April trip and just caught flights available in sales. Best flight prices I saw for around then were about £380pp for basic tickets. Our flights are with Delta/Virgin.
We booked a package through ebookers, booking the same package today has increased by about £460 per person.0 -

We're doing "the grand circle" over 11 nights in April and are spending less than that £800 on hotels...
For the day we are doing Monument Valley we are staying in a motel in Bluff, UT (~ 51 miles away, $100 on arrival) and then after Monument Valley we are driving to Page, AZ to stay in the Best Western Plus (~£68 prepaid).
Recommend taking a look at Google Maps for nearby towns!
What route are you considering?
It might come out cheaper if you book your flights and car at the same time on BA - you can have a car for part of the journey by choosing the Flight + Car option and selecting "Create Custom Trip".
For our trip: Car + Flight was cheaper than Flight alone... Car + Flight + 5 nights Vegas hotels was cheaper than Flight alone... These trips give you 1 piece of luggage each too!0 -
Well, I've booked my 40th birthday trip to Vegas in April! There were some astonishingly cheap deals released on Boxing Day, we managed to get 9 nights at the Palazzo with direct flights for sub 1k
(we could have had the equivalent at the Stratopshere for £460, but wasn't feeling quite that foolhardy!). It's one of the few Vegas resorts I haven't stayed at, so looking forward to checking it out. As it's my birthday I'm looking forward to going up the Eiffel Tower for free, and I'm going to see if there are any other birthday offers to take advantage of.
<edit> Lastminute came out by far the cheapest for us, it's gone up a bit but still seems to be better than Travelbag, which is what we usually use.0 -

We liked the view from the view... the hotel was so-so (tourist trap) but get up for that sunrise!!
What you also need to do is weigh up the cost of doing an organised tour there as well (if you want of course, but I’d recommend it.)
We did Navajo Spirit Tours - cost $150 for 2 people but was really good (5 years ago!!)... do not entertain paying and taking your own car out into the valley. It’s not worth it! (Dust, “sand roads” and holes everywhere)0
