Interest Calculations

Hi
Firstly - sorry for the blatantly dumb question but savings are generally a mystery to me!
I have a H2B ISA with Halifax that pays interest annually. As i will now not be claiming the government bonus (house price exceeds threshold) am I better to move the money to an account that pays interest monthly if it is expected that I will use it in the next 2-3 months? . I had read that even with interest applied annually, it is still calculated on a daily basis and you still get the interest payment for the period that you held a credit balance. Is this correct and how would this be applied if the account balance is 0 / account closed before the interest becomes payable?
Thanks

Yes that's correct. Interest to date is paid when you close the account.0
