Our local chippie will deep fry battered chocolate upon requests but it seems only tourists ask for it believing it to be a standard "Scottish" thing......
Deep fried pizza is of course a standard offering:rotfl::rotfl:

Are they not sold in Scotland? I have never seen them for sale in England. Must be a regional thing wherever you live.

I am struggling to see the hate behind them. Yes they are unhealthy a creme egg on its own is already unhealthy, however the amount of batter needed to cover it will be less than needed for fish.

If I was to eat eat battered fish than a plain creme egg I dont think anyone would think much of it. However if I had steamed fish then a battered creme egg you would think I would have committed a crime.

They used to sell them in the chippies in Peterhead & Boddam

1st time I was aware of this (deep fried mars bar) was seeing it advertised in a chippie (Bene's) down the Royal Mile Edinburgh, didn't attempt it though as it was a toss up between that or a Haggis - the Haggis won

  • I've been up here a few years, there are chippies who sell deep fried Mars and at Easter deep fried cream eggs, never fancied trying it myself.

But do tell us how you get on.
