Would you trust a politician with your money?

Options
Poll Started 22 March 2005: Would you trust a politician with your cash? If you had to (and I mean HAD to!) have one of the following as your financial adviser for a year who would you pick (names are automatically alphabetised by the software)?

This has been asked before but it'd be interesting to see how views have changed, if at all.

Charles Kennedy
George Galloway
Gordon Brown
John Major
Ken Clarke
Ken Livingstone
Margaret Thatcher
Michael Howard
Oliver Letwin
Robert Kilroy-Silk
Tony Blair
Vincent Cable

I must admit that I didn't know who Vincent Cable was until I read this (and searched the net for his photo). I recognise him now (honest!).

…… and I thought I took an interest in politics :o

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." -Thomas Jefferson 1802

Who would, in their right mind, trust anybody to look after my money. Certainly not politicians or banks.
If I really had to make a judgement regarding your poll I would choose Robert Kilroy Silk, the man of the moment and of our time, willing to stand for judgement against the "politic people".

What astounds me is that so many people voted for Gordon Brown. He has thrown away billions of pounds; he has spent money like a drunken sailor on shoreleave and is now borrowing like mad...he has filched money from our pensions ( £5 billion a year - think about the effect that is going to have! ), bribed people with their own money ( for example, why not just have an extra tax allowance for people with children, instead of making them jump through hoops for benefits, sorry, tax credits?)...it beats me why so many people think that he could be trusted with their hard earned. He'd more than likely give it to your neighbour 'cos *he's* got *no* savings...rantrantrant

    Sorry
