    You sound more positive than you used to. There was a cheeky squirrel in our garden in the spring sitting under the table while I had coffee and biscuits, waiting for crumbs.

    Could it be the cold making your hips hurt?

    Sorry you've got a cold, I had a horrible one a week before Christmas and it really saps your energy.

    With regard to your CV, could you say you just wanted some time out? or a career break? or time to do a bit of voluntary work? (you said you used to volunteer at a food bank).

    Maybe a different type of voluntary work would be less challenging than the food bank. DS1 did some conservation voluntary work once. There are lots of different kinds and it would ease you in more gently than going straight into a paid job.

  • Spent most of the day listening to BBC iPlayer. I find it very soothing when I am not feeling well.

    Again, I have eaten well. Didn't manage to get outside though.
