All opticians do NHS eye tests for pensioners at no cost to the pensioner. They claim a fee from the Health Trust for the test. Nowadays most opticians offer a more in depth internal eye examination where photos of the back of the eye etc are taken and these give a better idea of the overall eye health. This is an optional extra which is not covered by the free NHS test, and my last test cost £30 for the extrasJohn0

Hi Pepper 33,
You can find the best rated opticians closest to you by using a website called You Body Map - its a search engine for Northern Ireland businesses where everything is peer rated.
this is NI's new search engine for health, medical and beauty independent traders
I hope that helps you
