I believe double cream can be frozen for a while if it is whipped first - checks google - yup, see towards the bottom here.

Hi Lindsey,
There's an earlier thread with ideas for using up double cream so I've added your post to it.
You can freeze double cream providing you whip it a little before freezing.

You could whip it and freeze it for using at a later date:
Can I freeze cream?
Or you could use the cream to make butter:

Or use it to make ice cream, pasta sauce, stroganoff, meat sauces, soups etc as these all freeze well with cream in them.
There's an earlier thread with more ideas:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Hi,
I have a nearly full pot of double cream to use up - it's been open since Friday, so I really need to use it up in the next day or so!
I want to use it in a savory dish. Can anyone recommend some (low cost) dishes I can use it in that I can then go on to freeze?
I need your help and inspiration!
Thanks

Jansson's temptation is very yummy.
Just use the basic principles, and leave out the fish, if you so wish.

Spaghetti Carbonara - put pasta on to cook, fry up some bacon bits with a whole garlic clove, meanwhile mix an egg(s) some cream and cheese(parmesan? or mature cheddar?) salt and pepper.
When pasta cooked drain then put back in saucepan along with egg & cream mixture and bacon (discard garlic clove or if your really MSE save and use in something else lol) stir all together then serve with more grated cheese - bostin !
Or just do a search on google for Carbonara recipes loads about0
