I'm far too tired to do accounts tonight but DD and I had a super day and although money was spent, I am within budget to date, largely due to DD being queen of bargainaceous shopping, but also a little bit due to vigilance on my part... er… and a very nice jumper not looking as good on me as it did on the shelf. :D
    Some MS high lights:
DD has friends in the city who loaned us a parking permit so we parked all day in a sheltered spot for free.
I spotted I hadn't been given a 40% discount that a shop was advertising, went back and pointed it out politely (having first checked with DD that I hadn't mis-read anything), and got it refunded straight away. As they had already given me a free makeup session and DD had blagged a tester of very expensive perfume for us both, I also got through the day without looking too washed out despite being tired!
Shopping for A's present, DD wanted something from the same shop and by combining our purchases we got DD a points card for the shop and £10 discount which we shared between us.
DD knew of a caf! which does coffee and cake for £4 after 4 o'clock (much cheaper than earlier in the day) - and we got the most enormous helpings of cake ever! even I couldn't finish mine. :)

I did get myself some work shoes and a new diary. The shoes were getting to be necessary and only cost a tenner. The diary, well, I did buy a cheap one a few weeks ago but it turns out that gel pen goes right through the pages.

We did buy water, chocolate, the aforementioned coffee and cake, a light lunch and for supper, German sausages and hot apple juice from the Christmas market.

    A lovely day.

    Now I need sleep!

Crazy day, I am sleeping quite well but not enough so the accounting is in a notebook and the wrapped presents are a surging tide around me. Am off to bed and will catch up when I can. :)

    Hope you are all okay?

Morning Honeysucklelou, have you been up all night? :) Hope all is okay?

Hot apple was nice, thought I might do some over Christmas with some spice or ginger ale in.

I do hot apple juice quite regularly, they used to sell it at a farmers market where I worked many years ago. I have a particular mug that I use and make it up 2/3 apple juice to 1/3 water, add a slice of fresh ginger if I have it and stir it with a cinnamon stick - or a tiny pinch of ground ginger and cinnamon if I don't have the others - a couple of minutes in the microwave and it's lovely. Its really good for colds and for when you feel rundown. And making it by the mugful means you don't waste any.

I am definitely going to try hot apple again now - ginger and cinnamon would be perfect.

Went straight to bed after work yesterday and have managed to stay in the house all day so far - not difficult when it's so cold and miserable. I have caught up on sleep and ordered most people's presents that were still outstanding (and joined Amaz0n Pr!me, thus saving a bit on postage).

DS2 just came in from a run!!... narrating symptoms that tallied with Google's description of middle stages of hypothermia. :eek: He at least had the !!!!!! to get back to his car as soon as he realised things weren't right and got himself warmed up and he's now home (A has lit the fire) and having a bath to finish thawing out.

I am worrying about people sleeping rough and those without heating tonight... :( Shelter is being offered for rough sleepers in town - I hope the message gets out.

DH and I have investigated changing our tariff for fuel and the best for us seems to be fixed rate from out existing provider but their phone lines aren't open and they aren't linked directly through Energy Club so DH has emailed.
