Paid invoice now company wants more money 12th Oct 19 at 12:41 PM
Hi all, I walked into a local door suppliers yesterday and ordered a new front door. The lady behind the counter checked the price via text with her boss and the total came to £750. Everything was itemised and I paid in full as stated on the invoice. I received a voicemail this morning to say there had been an error and I need to pay a further £120. Iíve not received the item yet. Where do I stand with this as I believed we had a contract for the sale. Thanks.

If it was a clear error, they are entitled to cancel the contract and refund you.

Look at it from another point of view: If you force them to honour the contract at that price, do you think they’ll be especially helpful if there are any problems?

I’d try the polite tactic of expressing your disappointment and asking if they can do anything on the price because it’s gone beyond the amount you’d budgeted.
