  • Just WOW!!!!!! I have had a spamming 38 mails from QuickQuid detailing my SOA - one PDF for each loan and even separate ones for rollovers.

So thats 37 loans from Wonga starting 10/10/10 through 21/1/14 totaling £8168 and with fees/interest I paid them back £9751. A difference of £1575.

Meanwhile, 29 separate loans with QuickQuid starting 1/9/10 through 21/11/12 totaling £14700 with them being paid back £18680 - which is a small difference of £3980 (I wont even include the 15 pence lol).

Having looked at my account info, my wage back then (being on apprentice wages), on one payday I owed Wonga 95.3% of my wage and QuickQuid 78% - so obviously I borrowed £650 that day from one and £650 a few days later from the other. And that is before I even get anything from PDUK - who Im fairly sure were one of the main 2 I used along with QuickQuid.

Looking back, I am literally so ashamed of myself! Im sat here at my desk now and I honestly dont think I could hate myself any more... I think the only thing I hate more are these companies for enabling me. Im not blameless I know but I was clearly weak and felt trapped.

  • Hi all, Lending Stream are asking for a SAR to send my loan history. Is this right? If not, is there any specific law/rule I can quote? Thanks in advance
  • So I sent my complaint to Wonga on Monday - got this mail today:
Your complaint is being dealt with

    "Dear Mr X,

Thank you for contacting us. We were disappointed to learn that you are not happy with our service.

We take customer concerns very seriously and we will do our best to investigate this for you as quickly as we can.

We will be in touch within the next three days to offer a resolution or an update regarding our progress. A copy of our complaints policy is attached for your information.
    "

Does that mean I can start my 8 weeks today or do I have to wait for the next mail?

And after sending my complaint to Quickquid at about 2pm yesterday, I have had a reply at quarter past 9 this morning. SO that was very quick for them! They acknowledge my complaint and have asked
"To help us reach a fair complaint outcome in a timely manner (and where appropriate provide an offer of redress), please provide us with the following information as soon as possible:

    • Bank statements (at the point/s you took out your loan/s with us)
    • Payslips (at the point/s you took out your loan/s with us)
    • Any additional information relating to your financial circumstances (at the point you took out your loan/s with us)
    "

What is the best way to respond to this? I have not got my payslips for that time to hand (and having moved out of my parents house since then they are now all in a box in the loft somewhere) and my bank statement is closed - though I will be going into the local branch tomorrow with my ID to try and get hold of my statements. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their advice. I have only begun my journey this week. Within 2 days, Mr Lender had written off £210.00 of a £260.00 balance. I'm sure there will be more good news on the way with the others. Good luck everyone.
  • Decision from the Ombudsman adjudicator about Sunny (Elevate) has come in this morning and they have upheld my complaint.

They've written to Sunny asking for all interest on loans 2-10 to be refunded along with 8% interest & my credit file amended.

It Sunny disagree then they have to provide further info

Over the moon with this decision. As I've posted before, Sunny were by far the most rude, obstructive & unhelpful of the companies I dealt with (I'm no fan of Wonga or Wage Day Advance but both were pleasant, polite and helpful - the total opposite of Sunny).

    Balls in Sunny court now
  • I would do absolutely everything you can to try and get the info they're asking for.

If they don't uphold your complaint and you go down the Ombudsman route the chances are the Ombudsman will ask for the same info.

    Good luck!

has FOS given you any idea of how long it may be - are they trying to negotiate with QQ? Mine with QQ are over 6 years as well :(

No nothing as yet. I can't seem to find anyone in the same boat as me neither to compare to.
    Go get it!
  • Hi all,

I'm just starting my PayDay loan refund adventure and would like to keep an update on here as I've found others doing the same really helpful. Mine is a similar story to many on here and I've been dependent on PayDay loans on and off since 2011, I can fully sympathise with everyone who has fallen into the same trap. Looking back on my history with these guys, its pretty shameful how exploitative their business model is. I'm now trying to get control and this will hopefully give me a massive jumpstart.

I've searched my bank statements and have found that I've paid the following interest to these PDL companies:

    Wonga: 4.5k
    QuickQuid: 3.2k
    PayDayUK: 1k
    Lending Stream: 1k
    Sunny: 1.2k

With the 8% interest on top, if I'm successful I could be looking at a potential £13-15k refunds. So far my progress is:

Wonga: Emailed complaint 8th Feb, no acknowledgement.
QuickQuid: Emailed complaint 8th Feb. Polite reply asking for bank statements, which I denied, another response saying they'll still try and investigate fully.
PayDayUK: Emailed complaint 8th Feb, acknowledged and referred to their team.
Lending Stream: Emailed complaint 8th Feb, no acknowledgement.
Sunny: Sent letter 9th Feb, awaiting reply.

    Wish me luck!
  • Hi folks hoping for a bit of advice.

I contacted wonga through resolver asking for a refund on a rollover loan I've had with them since the beginning of last year. I've since done some reading up on this thread and after receiving a statement of all.previous loans goinf back to 2011 I would like them to look at my whole history as there is numerous times I've borrowed more to repay the orevious loan etc. It makes for rather depressing reading! Interest and fees is up to 2300, one month I borrowed 400 and ended up repaying over a grand?? What is the best way to go about this as I've already got a complaint in place?

    thanks guys
