Tethering allowed, Three network
https://smarty.co.uk
discussion here
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5704060
overall would be OK as secondary SIM, but being Three MVNO, must be main SIM as don't have 2g support and doesn't represent greatest value for me...
Sensible none the less for somebody IE son or daughter to have as youngsters these days need load of minutes and particular even with smaller packages (£7.50) offer unlimited minutes and txt's, with 2gb data0 -

Vectone mobile
uses EE network MVNO
https://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/bundles/uk-plans
Tethering officially is NOT allowed
https://www.vectonemobile.co.uk/terms-and-conditions...personal use only !!!8211;Vectone mobile reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the offer or to disconnect you if we suspect that offer is being used for commercial purposes, for conferencing, or if it is not being used in a handset (in a SIM box for example), or if it is being used for tethering. Fair usage policy:...
Had a SIM in the past, have NOT been impressed by CS at all, but 30gb plan for £10 is tempting
100GB plan is even more tempting, but knowing the way they conduct business... will NOT be surprised to find some sort of "lemons" as changing offer details or putting some tethering restrictions...
will have to check everything up to date, more in detail
Any current day users?
any feedback on this?0 -
Virgin mobile
http://store.virginmedia.com/virgin-media-mobile/sim-only/pay-monthly-sim.html
uses EE network
tethering is allowed (???) (just had a chat with CS on-line chat thingy) allowed but throttled down to 300kbs... wouldn't be able to watch youtube at 480p
offers are unclear, but going with £20 100GB offer perhaps is sensible option
unfortunately (to them) it is 12 Month contract, so no go from me
whilst next almost suitable offer via
https://www.secure-mobiles.com/checkout/checkout.php
20GB £15 P Month- 1 month ...
would/could, BUT after cash-back hassle... not sure, if can be bothered with either "offer" :cool:0 -

LycaMobile
https://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/
o2 network!!!! (meaning, would work for me as a secondary SIM)
£12 for 15GB data seems reasonable
But....
tethering isn't allowed:(
https://www.lycamobile.ie/en/termsandconditions5.2
You agree not to use the SIM Card or the Services and not to permit another person to use your SIM Card or the Services:
in or connected to any other device including modems, dongles and tablet devices, or any other way to connect to a personal computer, which includes using your GSM mobile telephone as a WiFi hotspot in order to connect to multiple devises, and any other form of tethering activity,
still, considering particulars and being rare (non EE ) MVNO, might be decently suited, in instances, where EE signal isn't good0 -
You can tether on Virgin Mobile, might not be able to use the whole of the 100GB.0

CM Link mobile
uses EE network
https://mobile.cmlink.com/uk/en/plans
Personally £10- 9GB isn't enough for me, whilst £18-27GB is more tempting...
Unsure if offer WILL last past one month, not sure IF tethering is or not allowed (expect it to be so, as it is outdated sneaky "restriction"-policy)0 -
CTRL mobile SCAM!!!!
https://www.ctrlmobile.co.uk/products/10-deal-b
at £10 30GB deal seems like no brainer
(most likely) THREE network, (most likely) no Tethering restriction, but ever so new MVNO
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5790280
unsure if to "jump or not" personally ??? :j0 -
Three network
uses own network
offer of £25-30GB plan for £17.50 seems goood value
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272806850796
again, as with everything on three or three MVNO's needs to be main SIM, as it has no 2g support
BBHHHUUUUTTTTT PAYG SIM's do NOT allow tethering
as explained here
http://www.lifehacker.co.uk/2015/09/15/tethering-policies-whats-the-best-uk-mobile-network-for-tethering
Clearly, this is not "all you can eat" (it used to be but, alas, unlimited tethering on Three is no more), but Three says this limit is in place because people using a mobile hotspot can be more intensive users (in other words, that they stream more data), and Three doesn!!!8217;t want its networks getting clogged up.
You cant tether if you are on PAYG.
might turn out decent deal for somebody? do NOT expect same discount to be applied for the "next month top-up" (I understand it would be back to the standard rates, as/or in this case £25 PCM), but "not so bright idea" about tethering put me off it... doesn't necessarily matter so much to everybody else
................................................................................................
hardly ever we are going to see each other eye to an eye with them plans being reasonable on 12 month contracts only...
http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Plans_for_phones
or the other prices and allowances
1 month roll on is £25, the one, I'll take, in case CTRLmobile isn't going to deliver...0 -
Long story short-
taken "the plunge"
and WILL post back findings/experience once got it going
for now- got order email, as anticipated, money (£10) is pending deduction from bank account :j
as Dell boy used to say: "Rodney, who dares...."0
