I live in a Seafront 2 Bed council Flat in Southsea, Hampshire.
I want to move to London........Kilburn / Stanmore Areas
How does one go about looking for potential council swops between cities?
What are the chances of getting a larger property in exchange ...possibly 3 bed Flat / House.
I would sincerely appreciate any advise.....Thank You ::)

Why don't you just find a property for let in London, then approach your local council Housing Dept (London, who will talk to Soutsea) and ask them to pay the rent for you? Based on your current known eligibility as a council tenant.
If the London place is a housing association property (and most are now - rapidly reducing council stock) you should come to an arrangement.
As I understand, someone from the council will come and check the property to make sure it is worth the rent asked. If they are happy and you are then you move in.0 -
Up here [West Lothian]the local council lists properties
of people who want to exchange houses on their
websites,it may be the same doon there also you may
see them in the local press.A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will.

This is the official site and the best place to start but there are alot more sites with people wanting to exchange. https://www.house-exchange.org.uk https://www.exchangeuk.co.uk are a couple also free adds usually have adds too. For London try loot, they are on line to I think, or https://www.adtrader.co.uk https://www.trade-it.co.uk
Also if you cant find the right swap you could also think about 3 way swaps. I heard of some one finding their perfect house with a 6 way swap though that would be a bit hectic.
Hope you get your move
