I have been PADing for the last few days and intend to keep it up.

I rung the garage and got no answer and was too busy to call back so rung them today and they came and collected it tonightt89055.gif

Did some more work up the field, 2 pens are done and look lovely, 1 gate is done with 1 more to go and then we need to re-roof the old chicken hut with corrugated so we can catch the water and store it in water butts.

Had my friend round today with her 2 kids and her sister's 2 children - we walked up to the field, they loved seeing all the animals.

Have also taken son to Osteopath - this is his 5th treatment in the last few months, he has had issues before and usually a session puts him right but this time it is quite bad and will take time to sort out. So that was another £42 spent.

Puppy also had her puppy class tonight so that was £3.50.

    It's been a spendy day.

Tomorrow is a part paperwork and part field day - the weather has been so lovely and we will be back at work soon so we need to get working while we can.

I am a big believer in osteopathy DD1 had a series of ear infections when little.GP diagnosed glue ear a booked app with ENT.I went to see a cranial osteopath and she had about 3 sessions and bingo no more ear infections and no 'glue ear' :) So when DD2 started with same thing I by passed the GP and again everything sorted quitely and painlessly :D
    Hope DS sorted soon

DS has hyper-mobility and every so often needs a course of osteopathy to get him right again - now he has left school he does not do much sport and this makes it worse. I really must [strike]force[/strike] encourage him to start swimming a couple of times a week.

DD has seen a physio before when she hurt her knee on a trampoline and all the hospital cared about was that it was not broken and not about the long term damage.

People at work think we are mad to pay out for things you can get on the NHS - I just tell them that some things are worth more than money and anyway the waiting lists and the jumping through hoops take too long.

We had another osteopathy session this week just gone and he has a gap of 3 weeks until the next one as he is nearly sorted.
The osteopath has written to the GP to ask about DS having an x-ray as his spine is missing some pointy bits (clearly I am no medical person) and he is not sure of the cause and wants it checked out. problem is now that DS is 18 I cannot ring the GP for him and he is not quite ready for the responsibility of ringing them himself so we are in catch 22 at the moment.

I have my car back - they kept it for 1.5 weeks and the battery issue did not happen even though they left it a week so I just have to keep an eye on it. They have fixed the wing mirror now - looking like £250+

We finished two of the chicken runs and collected 15 hens who are now starting to lay so we should make our money back quite quickly by selling the eggs.

DH has started the other 2 pens but we need to build a new hut before we can fence the area.

In more animal news I have a poorly pig who went to the vet yesterday - what a commotion that was trying to catch a pig and getting it to the vet.
She is much better after steroids and antibiotics and we have to take her back tomorrow - hopefully she won't need to be destroyed but she has a growth in her mouth which is stopping her being able to eat. Obviously a pig needs to eat so we will see what happens.
Tonight we mixed her nuts with warm water into a porridge and she slurped it right up!!

Puppy is doing brilliantly and is so well behaved around other dogs and today she met some small bulls who approached her and sniffed her through a fence, she was petrified (as she is of every animal including other dogs) - bless her.

My house is a mess and I am fed up of it - someone from one of my committee's popped over without warning in the week, I could have cried at the state of my house - it is truly C.H.A.O.S!!
I have started another tidy today but I just don't seem to have time for everything in my life.
Another 2 bags of clothes from my wardrobe and finally I think I am getting there although my summer clothes need to come out of the loft:eek:

Got paid on Friday so have done the shuffle and paid £100 to Halifax - I really need to get this paid off.

I did an online focus group in the week and should get paid £30 in Amazon vouchers - not bad for 2 hours work.:T

Just checking in EE! Sounds like you are certainly being kept busy!

As you know missy H has EDS hypermobility syndrome and we have been paying for the right physio privately and to see a rhuemy that understands the condition, the NHS seem to have very little knowledge of the condition and seem to dismiss it very easily as nothing! We are due to go to the hypermobility unit in london again in June and it will be worth every penny.

    Hi Mrs H,

DS finally plucked up the courage to call the doctor - after I had written down a script for him to follow and also various things that the receptionist and then the GP might say to him and what he was to say in reply

The whole conversation with the receptionist took about 1 minute followed by a call back of 1 minute in length with a GP who agreed that DS' usual GP could call when he was next in which he did and this conversation took 3 minutes!!!
Luckily our doctors work quite closely with the osteopathy people and so the GP knew that if the osteopath is concerned then that is enough to get an x-ray done.

Upshot is that DS has had his xray and has to contact GP next Thurs for results (after I have written down what he needs to say :rotfl:)

Good Luck with the hyper-mobility unit!!

Gosh where does the time go?? A month since I last posted!!!

Our chickens are making us some money, we are getting 14 eggs a day so we can usually sell a dozen a day.
We should be getting more in July so that will help with egg production as sometimes we cannot keep up with demand!!

In m0203.gif news, our poorly pig is much better, so much so that it took 20 minutes to catch her to take her back to the vet:rotfl:. She had some more steroids and antibiotics and we were told if she went downhill within 4 days then she would have to be destroyed as nothing else they can do for her - but she is a fighter and is doing brilliantly!! She is nearly as big as her sister now!
Total cost £47 :j - if that had been a cat or dog it would have been £125+ but our pigs are classed as farm animals hence it is cheaper!!

Puppy is still very good but chewing anything black!! She was due to be spayed this week just gone but she is having a phantom pregnancy so we have rebooked for 2 weeks time.
She is getting better with meeting other dogs but still does the petrified look everytime one comes near her - hopefully she will continue to get better.

My house is still C.H.A.O.S even though I had 3 days off - instead of housework I dug the vegetable patch:rotfl:.
I thought it wouldn't matter but then DH found someone to have our goats and gave me 30 mins notice and I still had to get home from the hairdressers so that was more people who saw my house in a sorry state - I just don't know where all the carp comes from:mad: (well the majority of it is DD who has her school books and pens etc all over the lounge and then moaned when the dog chewed her science book:p)

If I had my way we would have 2 sofa's and a coffee table in the lounge, no TV or anything:rotfl:

I made some PAD's in the month but not as many as I wanted to so just made a payment to Halifax of £200. This leaves £228.30 + interest) to pay off. I really need to get this done this month but I think we have some more animal related things to buy:(

I mentioned before that I am Chairman of the Allotment Committee but don't think I mentioned the allotments that DH and I have taken on:eek:(not sure where all this free time comes from!!). DH has picked an allotment with apple trees on so at least we are guaranteed apples this year, I have got the one next door as brambles have taken over the dividing fence so we decided that if we both worked our own plots then the bramble won't come back as we will keep on top of it (rather than relying on another plot holder to keep things in check).
Mine will be used for a shed, compost bins, and all veg related things - DH will have his apples and will also grow rhubarb and other fruit.
I have been doing 4 hours every weekend up there just clearing bramble, I don't expect to grow anything on the plot this year as it needs a lot of work to get it ready.
However in the garden we have a lovely little vegetable area, We should end up with 10 beds of 120cm x 250cm so that is plenty for the things we want to keep at home like the French beans, peas and tomatoes.

I have been paid by the online focus group but not yet put the money on my Amazon account - I really ought to do some surveys but I just don't seem to have time.

What I need to do is allocate time to everything that needs doing in a week and allowing time for me as well.

I have been making PAD's since 1st June as I am counting on the PAD thread which reminds me to PAD and have just cleared my Halifax credit card b0279.gif

Yesterday I got a letter from my local credit union to say they were changing how they run and I will be charged a weekly fee for saving with them - they don't even pay interest so I will actually lose money every week!! I only joined to support them as I encourage clients to use them so last night I logged on and drew out all but £5 and have just paid that off my credit card. I will write to close my account and get my £5 as well.

This leaves the rest of my debt at 0% - Santander is on 0% until October, the balance is just over £900 plus I have my Barclaycard which I defaulted on which has a balance of about £8,000.

Not sure if I should keep paying the minimum to Santander and put some money into savings and get a few pence interest of whether I should just pay it straight off the card and not worry about the interest??

In other news everything is great and I have not brought any lunches out all week so today I treated myself to a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar (naughty EE!!)

The house is still not tidy and this weekend is jam packed so not sure how much chance I will get to sort the house especially as any free time will go on digging the veg patch in the back garden as I am late planting my potatoes!!

EE, my mum used to have to write down what to say when I had to phone somewhere as a teenager. I was very shy and incredibly nervous on the phone but having a script as such really helped. Well done to your DS, it's a scary thing to do. :T Also well done to you for finding a way to help him. :)

I actually still dislike phoning places and get a bit nervous to be honest :o but am a lot better than I used to be. Well I guess I should be since I'm approaching 31. Sometimes I still need to write myself a script though :rotfl:

Your veg patch and allotment plans sound great. :j

It's all go in the Elephant household this past week and a half.

Last Sunday, my old cat (nearly 18yrs old) just looked really ill and she could not walk straight and her back legs kept giving way.
I know she had lost some weight but then all my others cat do when the weather gets warmer.
DH thought the end was near so we took her to the emergency vets and he said that although she was poorly she could still walk and seemed healthy enough for an 18yr old cat although he could feel a mass in her stomach and thought she had a tumour on her liver. Neither of us wanted to decide so in the end he have her some steroids and some B12 and told us to take her home and review on Friday.
£95 later:eek: we took her home stocked up with fish and she spent 5 days in my son's bedroom (she likes his room as it is so quiet) being fed fish all day long. On Thursday DH was home (dog was due to be spayed on Weds but she is still producing milk from the phantom pregnancy) and he thought she was still going downhill. So we made the decision to take her back to the vets to go to rainbow bridge.
I was at home on Friday and although the cat was happy enough it was heartbreaking to see her walking and falling over so Friday night our cat went to rainbow bridge.

We are having her cremated as we had her for 15.5yrs of her life - it's all the time we have been married!!

No idea how much that will cost but it is what it is.

In other animal news - the pigs got out yesterday and decided that they would not cross the white fencing (which they ran through to get out) as it was far too scarey so they spent the day out - when we went up later to entice them back with food (they didn't want food in the morning because they managed to open the door to the shed and helped themselves to food!!) they were no where to be seen but after lots of calling we heard a snorting coming from the goose shed - yup, they had taken all the straw and made 2 beds and had spent the day asleep (I know they were asleep most of the day as none of the field has been wrecked by them!!!)

They are quite good fun and of course you can't move a 5stone pig if it doesn't want to go somewhere!!
They will be ready for slaughter next month but I think we will take them in early August.

Debt payments are going ok, I am just paying the minimum on my last proper card and then making PAD's into a savings account ready to pay off when the 0% runs out - which is 1st October, hopefully in that time I will have got a little bit of interest.

Off out today to a Dog Day, our dog (now 11mths) has not been socialised much with other dogs, we do meet some on walks through the village but she is still petrified of dogs which are bigger than our cats!! so we thought an hour or so of walking round a showground with other dogs milling about should help get her used to them.
