i cant beleive it, we are white over with snow!!

We were hoping to get outdoor jobs done this weekend, but the weather has scuppered us again.. roll on summer :)

We have most of the fencing completed, they are coming back to fit 3 gates that hadnt arrived, and im still awaiting the quote for the stable..

Money is tight this month, a few unexpected costs, two tyres, and a couple of other bits, so from today till pay day ive set myself a frugal challenge to get back on track.

Ive done an online shop last week and this, to see if by just doing a list, and getting it delivered on the cheapest slot, makes it easier to stick to the grocery spend, along with saving time that i could use for other tasks, im trialling this for 4 weeks to compare.:)

Not a lot going on financially till payday, just daily checks that accounts are on track, and keeping spends low on food etc..

Work is mega stressful for both of us at the moment, keep wishing on that premium bond jackpot to save us from the workplace :D

not counting on it though, so we will have to get through the working week, things will pick up soon i hope ..

looking forward to snuggle up and treat night tonight, love our time together at the weekend, it goes too fast!:rotfl:

    :)Payday today:j

After a tight month, at last ive made a £250 overpayment, as well as £850 to DIY fund/loan etc

The new mortgage balance stands at £225,260, I will update again once the march interest, and the direct debit has updated the total balance too . The new total overpayments to date stands at £7477.77 , not bad when we consider how much we have got done too outside with the workshop/fencing etc , and we have only lived here 16 months!:)

We are still awaiting the quote for the stable, and the gates etc to be finished, but the weather has been pants, and the fencers are also sheep farmers, so I guess lambing is starting too so I will have to be patient (not my best feature I'm afraid!:o)

The signs of spring are all around, trees are budding, crocuses and daffodils are pushing their way up and nearly ready to flower, the birds are singing, days are longer, the temperature is rising, winter is over, I think spring has arrived !! :j

I love living here, everyday I count my blessings, and every penny paid off the mortgage takes us further towards mortgage freedom, owning our dream home outright, and hopefully an earlier retirement too to enjoy it all. Though I'm focussing on enjoying every day we are here, retirement is still a long way off, we have a lot of challenges and fun ahead of us, and I intend enjoying every minute.:)

Happy week to you all x Sammy x

Made £10.55 overpayment today, rounding the balance down to a tidier amount of £224,450

Today we are work free! 4 days of enjoying our home/land, getting a couple of jobs done, general pottering and time together to recharge our frazzled batteries:j
Lambs continue to be born in the field alongside our lane. I'm still awaiting, impatiently now, my fence guy to get back and finish off, so I can sort our sheep before the grass starts getting too long..

Spring is such a lovely time, I love just standing listening to the birds sing, and everyday the trees get more buds appearing, we have wild baby rabbits on the lawn this week, its a magical time :)

I'm going to get stuck into the weekend house tidy early today, to allow us to be out doors this next 3 days as much as possible, just hope the weather is kind..
My grocery budget has stayed on track, and we have enough meals for ten days, just need milk and fresh fruit/salad..

The start of month 3 0f our 21 month plan is going well, fingers crossed it stays that way!

    back to work today :(

But, we have had a great 4 days off. We have built and hung a gate that was needed to keep sheep in, the only one we did ourselves, and a fantastic job hubby made, with me as labourer as usual :T

Hubby also did the work required on my car, which was a pain, but saved £200 garage bill at least :)

[lastly, hubby also built the little chicken house up that my son bought me for mothers day last year, he is going to get wire this week, and build an enclosure, then we are off to a local poultry supplier for our first 3/4 hens :j/B]

I have spent time helping hubby, i was in charge of feeding and watering us, including both kids and partners who visited sunday.

the weather has been great, ive had a few relaxing times just wandering around our land, checking fencing etc, and sitting watching the birds , listening to their lovely singing, and generally thinking this is what we worked so hard to achieve, the peace and tranquility of a lovely sunny spring day in our own countryside home :)

I need to focus on money saving, my mind hasnt been on it this month, so first thing is to sort meal plan for the next week, and make a small payment to the diy loan..
