Help understanding Tenancy Break Clause

So my contract has this clause:
123. The Landlord agrees that the Tenant has the right to terminate the Tenancy at the end of the first six months by giving the Landlord not less than two months' prior notice in writing to be served by first class post or hand delivery to the address specified on page one of this Agreement, to end the Tenancy. The notice must be served prior to the date upon which it takes effect but cannot take effect any earlier than 24/05/2018 and cannot expire any earlier than 24/07/2018. Such notice must expire at the end of a relevant period, being the 24th day of the month. When the notice period expires the Agreement shall cease. This does not affect the right of either the Landlord or the Tenant to pursue their legal remedies against the other for any existing breach of any rights under the Agreement.

I want to leave the property, but I want to double check if I get it right.

I moved in on 24th November 2017. Six months of the tenancy will end in May 2018 (24th).

So as long as I hand in the notice before May 24th, saying that I will leave the property before July 24th, 2018 - I should be fine?

You do realise you can leave on 24th May when your fixed term ends?
