Hi All
I have ran this thread since 2016 and I have motivated a few people on here over the last three years so I decided to keep going with the challenge.
It has been a very successful challenge for quite a few years, so many thanks to Spam.Jam, Palema, Flat Eric, Keza and Nix143 who have run previous challenges.
Below are links to the previous threads if you wish to have a look.

VSP 2019 will start on 1st January 2019 (Sorry for the delay in getting set up I have been unwell and its been a busy few days) run till 31st December 2019 but some people stop earlier in November as they start to use their pots for Christmas presents or bills, this is okay too.
I will try to update the spreadsheet as often as I can, could you put your challenge numbers in your signature so it is easier to spot any declarations.
Good luck with VSP 2019, looking forward to beating previous years targets.

Every Friday (Or whatever day is easier for you) the aim is to transfer the pounds and pence to round it down to the next nearest £5 or £10.
So if you have £36.78 in credit you will transfer £1.78 or £6.78, or £20.04 in credit you would transfer £0.04 only.
You then can either send me the total transferred for that week on the update form, and I will add each week or wait till the end of the month and submit then with a total, but could I ask you use form as well as adding your figures on here.
This is so I don't miss any updates as some challenges move quickly in posts and pages and would hate to miss any amounts.
**Some banks do not allow you to transfer less than £1, if this is the case what I tend to do is note what the money I have left that week then add it in the following weeks transfer.
For me: The 'Virtual Sealed Pot' is a savings account that is attached to my bank account which makes it easier for transfers (I transfer on payday each month) but due to the faster payment system it doesn't have to be with your bank as all funds transfer instantly or within 2 hours, being a virtual pot i find I'm less likely to take any money out as I do the transfer and forget about it till the next month.
Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're most welcome and it's NEVER too late.
If you have been part of any challenges previous years and wish to keep your number or you have a lucky number you want that is fine if it's free otherwise I will assign numbers from the beginning to keep things tidy

I wondered if there would be another thread for 2019. Please count me in - I have already transferred a small amount. As my cc is 0%, I’ll be using my money to pay off some of the balance at the end of the year.

Hi Example79
Welcome to VSP 2019.
As this is your first year doing this challenge, have read of the first and second post, which explains how the challenge works. It works quite well and lots of people like it as it can be small numbers being transferred weekly or monthly, and no obligation to make any minimum or maximum amount.
Hopefully the update links work, you should be able to access the update form, which is how you tell me what you have saved and its from this update form I update the spreadsheet (which is the second link, which is view only) I dont update the spreadsheet from here, so any declarations need to be sent via the form.
I dont mind if you send me a form at the end of each month, every time you make a transfer, once a week, its totally up to you, I will endeavour to update the spreadsheet as soon as I can and this way you can see how well you are doing against your target and how your savings add to not only the monthly total but at the end of the year you will be able to see the total saved by everyone over the year which can be quite impressive.
Don't forget its your own target, your own challenge and you have your own reason for joining, whatever that reason or however small the target is, its your challenge to smash just make sure you try to keep the money in the account till you need to make a transfer out.
Good luck with the challenge and welcome, I will give you #8 if that's okay, just in case some of the regular MSE'rs want their number from last year.
Please add this to your signature as it makes it easier when it comes to updating and keeping an eye on the thread as you can imagine sometimes it moves quite fast and I dont want to miss any updates.
Any questions let me know, or one of the regulars can help if Im not online, I do check my thread regularly when I have access to my laptop to update the spread sheet and my phone to read the posts from you all.
Welcome again to the challenge and good luck.

Hey Westie983,
I'm hoping I can join your great challange, reading your post which I stumbled on accidently last night encouraged me to sign up to MSE straight away in the hope you might be running a new challange for this year.
My aims this year are to reduce my overall debt ( nearly £9k ), clear my store card (£531) and save a bit more on top of my regular £50pm ISA. I'm hoping I will save at least £200 by December by participating in your challange.
Many thanks52 Week Savings Challenge #26 11/52

Hi and welcome the MSE and to the VSP 2019 challenge.
Your number is #9. Please add this to your signature, if you need help to how to set one up let me know. Have a read if you haven't already on how the challenge works and familiarise yourself with the update links. What would you like your target to be?
