Which Canary Island for Christmas 18th Sep 19 at 1:09 PM
Hi. I'm looking to book a Christmas holiday to the Canary Islands. Can anyone advise of the best island for weather at this time and the best resort? The holiday will be for 3 adults. thanks in advance.

We've booked for Costa Adeje next year as we couldn't find what we wanted on Gran Canaria.

I prefer Tenerife. It can be very windy in Gran Canaria and lanzarotti.

Costa Adeje was too quiet for us, enjoyed PDLA.

Booked for Gran Canaria next year, first visit.

I'd go for the southern part of Tenerife. Personally, I prefer Los Cristianos which isn't quite as crazy as PDLA but is walkable distance away or a short bus/taxi ride.

Just be warned that Christmas/New Year is peak season in the Canaries so prices will be high (and the exchange rate doesn't help) so I'd get booked ASAP.

I wouldn't go to any at Christmas. Too cold/wet/windy. If you want good weather head further, Thailand/ India etc.

We have been to Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria and we stopped going to GC a number of years ago because it has been taken over by Scandinavians and the increase in price is solely down to that fact.
We went to Fuerteventura last Xmas and the weather was great,
Previously year we did Tenerife and again it was great.

I would recommend either Tenerife or Gran Canaria. I've been to both in the last few years in December/January.

South of each island has better weather. Gran Canaria is always around mid 20s all year. Tenerife is a bit more temperamental with weather, but less windy than Gran Canaria.

I stayed in Los Cristianos in Tenerife which I liked. I did visit Playa De La Americas but it was crazy, I'm glad I stayed where i did. It was an ok place to go to, but not to stay. I preferred Tenerife. I also went up Mount Tiede which was fun - a lot colder up the top at 3700m though!
