BT Line frayed

Options
Hi,
wonder if anyone knows the answer to this.
I live in 1930s semi therefore there are Telephone poles in our street with lines going to each house.
I am actually with Virgin and have been for the last 5 years (waiting for the Superfast Broadband from BT).
Anyway I noticed the line into is very frayed and part of it is hanging down in front of my downstairs window - I can almost touch it.
Also it looks bad as well.
Anyway - who do I contact - I am not a BT customer but it is their line as far as I am concerned they can remove it as I don't need it.
