Recycling in Scotland

THE website for recycling information in SCOTLAND is https://www.wascot.org.uk or go to the website of your local Council.

The waste management hierarchy in its basic form is REDUCE
RE-USE
RECYCLE
DISPOSE

Recycling is low in the priority. Yes it is important but not nearly as important as Reduction and Re-use. Waste growth is c. 3% p.a. Keep your Council tax down by NOT producing as much waste. Modify your own behaviour.

Earlier question about packaging on toothpaste. It makes them easier to stack on the shelves ...but it means greater waste in the home.
Ask your local supermarket store manager to redesign his displays and see what response you get. These issues are decided at national HQ level not at store level but if every shopper left the packaging that they do not want at the till.....they would change. While you are at it ask the store manager what products he has that are made from post-consumer recycled material...answers on a postage stamp.
Get a free or subsidised compost bin and a food waste digester from your local Council or make one from scrap and save even more
