I did mean 'Pinterest Mum crafty stuff' as a general explanation of where to look for inspiration, but as always, I'm sure that NIM is more than capable of doing these things too.... :p Like... building a den, getting a big cardboard box and decorating it/turning it into a wendy house, making a race track for toy cars out of scraps of card, collecting leaves and twigs and shiz and making pictures? :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Lol Nim looks at craft stuff like it landed from another planet - his face a skeptical picture of 'what exactly do I do with a bag of feathers, pipe cleaners and a tube of glue, is this a test? Should I decorate the children? The cat? Can I use it to make fire?'

yey, £50.52 paid in to our account from a credit card we'd accidentally over paid-off. So will send that to a more deserving credit card. First payment off the debt - big happy face :D:D:D

Another £54 paid off - returned some boots. Mine are pretty ratty (getting a bit close to a hole in one toe after a trip) but very warm and I think they'll make it through this winter. Paying it off the CC as it was a spend I'd previously have kept but paying it off was more appealing that new boots.

Also paid off £13 from teaching on Monday.

£33.95 in onepoll. Need to remember to keep it pottering away to get it to the £40. Just checked NIMs though and he's at £39.60, with about 80p of surveys showing so will do 40p worth and get that cashed out :D

Surprise surprise, onepoll screened me out of the last 3 surveys to get to £40... despite the face I didn't actually get shown a screening question!

Had to get rid of Ben's wellies as they were 1.5 sizes too small... but I'm in a group for local mums passing things on for free so got some free on there. She also gave me 6 pairs of trousers for him, size 2-3 so they're in a box for a few months until he gains a bit of chunk.

We had his 2 year check with his HV yesterday, no concerns, and he's finally in proportion at 9th centile all around, as he's not gained in height in 9+ months, but gained 6lbs in the same time.

  • Are there any museums with free entry near you? My little people love going although the best ones are a distance from us. They absolutely loved the natural history museum in London which caters for all ages. They still talk about over a year later.

They also like a car picnic/ chippy tea at the beach. We park up and watch the waves. Still nice a warm but the car smells for a day or two.

Ooooh actually there are ROTE.There is one in our little town that we use quite a lot, but there is also a modern art gallery near by that has an art trolley thing for kids on a Saturday afternoon. Will suggest it.

Painless savings time. Have ordered a free water saving kit. Our broadband and landline is currently expensive, £44 a month as it's anytime international calls and fibre optic. So now looking to come down to evening and weekend calls, and standard broadband. Next one will be energy, only swapped 4 months ago but MSE energy club emailed me last night to say my savings trigger has been hit.

I'm making Polaroid coasters - just give it a google and lots of diy blogs come up! I also got a tray from hobbycraft for £4 that I'm going to make some chalk paint to shabby chic it up with and then spray with my grandparents initials F&M style. Trying to make a chocolate reindeer slab like the hotel chocolate ones, will let you know how that goes! Doing some crochet animals too (unicorn and fox) I'm excited to see where I'll magic the time from.

Sounds like you're super focused, Dinah. Absolutely love it!

I'm doing an international swap box with a family in Texas and I realised all I can think to buy is food and Yorkshire tea!
