Just as the title suggests really, starting over after the ugliest of years ever. Family illness, my own illness and now losing my job means it's time to start over.
Need to do my SoA so that's the plan over the next few days and then tackle everything head on, interest only mortgage, negative equity, credit card, bank loan, Tesco loan and get a new job/career. It ain't gonna be pretty but we will get there. Wish us luck

All PPIs finally in and sorted so they are sitting still as a back-up for any months between jobs. A few new jobs are coming out now and a few at a level that would make the best of my skills and experience and are permanent which would be brilliant.

Only got a week and a day off for Easter and no major plans or spending to do apart from a visit to friends and possibly staying over there.

    Main aims are:
    a) major spring clean
    b) get job applications done - most are in for 24th April
    c) get ahead of school work so I can get my weekends back!

    Reality may well be:
    a) read a lot
    b) catch up with a few TV programmes
    c) coffee and natter with a range of friends
    d) crafting

12 spend on foody stuff for church outreach and tea but nothing else. Really happy with the way we're not spending at the moment.

Plans so far haven't really happened, mostly been sat around watching rugby on TV and lazing around a fair bit (both of which are free).

Really need to get some stuff done but going to start tomorrow now and enjoy relaxing today instead.

Slow start but got going on the tidying front and have more or less done two bedrooms, the kitchen and dining room, another 10 mins in each should get them finished. Returned library books and bought stuff for the rabbit just over 10 for hay, food and a treat. Cleared out the fridge and cooked three different meals so that I didn't have to go food shopping today either. Also kept laptop open and managed to get a few surveys done when they popped up so trying to do a few each day to put towards summer holiday spends. So far up to 26.76 so trying to get it a bit higher before I cash it out.
Eaten really healthily today too and going for a nice walk with an audiobook or music once my tea has settled a bit.

Bits and bobs kind of day today, got to nip into school for something I forgot to bring home on Friday which is a bit annoying but can only go today. Food shop needs doing too but Easter Sunday is at in-laws so no massive spends there either. Still trying to get through a mountain of random tins in the cupboard, none of which make an actual meal!
Much happier with the upstairs of the house after yesterday's blitz but downstairs still needs a lot of work and not started on the school stuff yet!

Unexpected spendy day today as hubby's car smashed into a pothole late last night and shredded his tyre. RAC brought him home about 1am and tyre fitter is coming out soon but still an expense we weren't planning on. Already planned a cinema trip with the kids using meerkat movies voucher so 15 for the three of us to see Dumbo. Then helping out a church event this afternoon so no more spending after that!

Pay day is on Monday but managed to stay within budget having done a big food shop yesterday which should see us up to the weekend after Easter (apart from bread!) Off to see friends for the day today and got to get the boy a new bus pass for school which is about 90 for the term, but at least it means he isn't carrying money every day and he hasn't managed to lose it yet. Still irks that we don't get a free one even though some people in massive multi-million houses do just because of distance - they don't even use the buses as their parents drop them off in 4x4s!
Trying to work out if we can go away in the summer for a week or so but no-one's really that bothered, be nice to have a week somewhere in UK near the sea/countryside just to read books and craft somewhere different lol.

Just a few pounds spent today on ingredients for some cookies we're baking to take to Nan's tomorrow. Went for a nice but very hot walk to take a parcel back, clothes that the teen ordered which didn't fit, managed just over 5k which isn't bad considering the heat!
Started a stitching project I'd forgotten I had and been reading a fair bit too. Going to tackle a bit of housework later and school work tomorrow.

Busy old week so not much time to do much other than work, eat, sleep tbh. Both got paid so stashed a bit more in the 3 month fund just so it's away and we can't waste it!
Lots more jobs out there this week and a couple that I think I've got a good chance of getting and are permanent so feel like things are looking up a bit for September. Current school would love to keep me but are broke and can't afford me (I'm expensive but I'm worth it lol). Had a great meeting with the HT discussing my class, some teachers took over 3 hours for theirs and mine was sorted in 45 mins because I do know my stuff, but it was nice to be told that.
Going to see Avengers film today so got to crack on with some housework, school work and one job application that's in tomorrow. Got to reorganise the garden again too after storm Hannah moved a lot of it around.

Money in money out kind of day today. Hubby's car died over the weekend so 190 for a new starter motor, courts paid him for jury service 195 so 5 up then the boy comes home wearing only one serviceable shoe as he appears to have shredded the other. Bought a cheap pair as he is capable of shredding expensive ones as much as cheap ones so 12 down overall on the day.
Nowt else interesting to report, just watching the cash go in and out today was enough!

No more unexpected spends thankfully. Need to do a good clear out of the fridge today (yuck) really trying to eat healthier but sugary stuff is still my downfall. Started back walking and running a bit to try and balance out my eating but have been getting headaches as a result so feeling a bit grumpy with it all. More job applications being done so still keeping fingers crossed. Spends for bank holiday are minimal as the kids aren't bothered and hubby is working all day (double pay - woohoo!)

Not been on in ages so just updated monies at the bottom. Lovely to see the debts still going down. No news on the job front yet but a few more applications going in this week. Hoping to pay off the bank loan from PPI money this month.
Payday is now after all the big bills - mortgage, gas/leccy, debts - so we've done well not to overspend this month. Have worked out that May pay (23rd) will cover June's bills, June pay will cover July and should get a couple of weeks pay from July to help towards August bills. That means if I can get a post that starts 1st September we'll only use some of the savings we've stashed up so we'll still have a lump that we can either use against the Tesco loan or into the mortgage. A permanent post would also mean the chance to sort out the mortgage onto more favourable terms, so got everything crossed. Have managed to keep about 300 in the account so we'll be able to use that for my car insurance so that will be sorted for another year too.

Really boring post but more babysteps towards being debt free from 24,922.08 down to 12,050.42 which is amazing really.
