That is not the advice I wanted do you have any advice on broadband providers? I have to make a decision in the next few days0 -
I have always thought the Sky broadband and service has been pretty good however they are relatively poor at tracking service outages (its easier to find if there is a service problem by searching online than using their service status tracker) and if you are going to use the Sky router rather than your own kit for wifi, it is highly restricted to numbers of devices. I basically had to buy a google wifi router and extender to take most of the traffic as Sky seems to max out at 30 attached devices, which is pretty poor for a modern smart home.0

Have you read this summary of the budget ISPs?

Thank you you have been very helpful0 -
Generally SKY is one of the better providers .
You could well have a problem some place .0 -
Since I moved over to Sky fibre, the service levels have been excellent. I wouldn't consider leaving at the current time.0

The Sky service is very good just came off them after more years than I care to count never had any issues with them wasn't even a fibre product either. I only left because I got a better deal elsewhere.
Fibre is all much of a muchness unless you're on Virgin as its all the same provider (BT wholesale)
If you have problems with Sky though their tech support is very minimal to reading-from-a-script as are most third party providers.Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.0
