Best instant coffee? 4th Dec 17 at 3:01 PM
Just wondered what anyone thinks is the classiest/best tasting instant coffee? I want to make up a small food-related gift for someone and include coffee in it. I know they don't have a coffee maker and are too lazy to make it from beans so thought a good jar of instant would be a good fit. They buy Gold Blend for themselves so obviously like a bit of flavour (?) but could do with some recommendations.

I tend to drink whatever's on offer myself so not very good at judging.

    Thanks

If you do happen to like Lavazzo, keep an eye out for it in Sainsburys as, from time to time, they reduce it from 4.50 to 3. Not on right now though.

I'm just wondering if anyone has a good de-caf they can recommend? I used to really like the stuff in tins (Kenko Millicano or Nescafe's version-can't recall the name). But for some unknown reason, I can't stand it now. It was an all of a sudden thing, I was halfway into a tin at the time I went off them, the full caffeine versions I am still fine with and really like.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations other than the one's I've mentioned.

Co-op Instant Columbian Coffee (2.99) great taste. Similar to Waitrose Instant Columbian but this is slightly more expensive.
    Nice to save.

Another vote for Millicano here. I've just tried Waitrose Columbian Fairtrade instant which seems to have a few coffee grounds in (making it feel 'real') though I still prefer the Millicano.

I've also dipped into Nescafe Lattes (vanilla and toffee hazelnut) for occasional treats though they're not as good as the real thing.

Kenco Millicano is always a nice treat when it's on offer - a little bit more posher without being too pricey

    DE Gold for me.

I like Percol. The decaff is nice, although I don't really see the point in it myself!

We buy Nescafe Azera decaf when it's on offer (2.99) but not when it's full price (5.99)

I buy the one from Co-operative superstore. I just love the taste of the instant coffee.

Some other times I drink Nescafe which is good as well.

For those who like it as much as I do, Lavazzo coffee is on sale at Sainsbury's for 3 right now, reduced from 4.50.

Lavazza Prontissimo is really nice, Azeera is also rather good, but the Intenso version is by far the best I have tasted lately - hot, bitter, without milk!
