  • Why anyone still purchases TV listing mags these days is beyond me. Apart from being easily obtainable on the 'net and the EPG, the TV schedules are also published with several newspapers..

Some people prefer paper rather than digital. Thats no reason to criticise them for it.

Not a matter of criticism but the Radio Times is a bit yesterday. Every daily paper has the listings for those who don't wish online viewing or indeed the electronic programme guide that comes with Freeview or Freesat.
RT will die the death that quite a few paper based magazines are currently doing as they become increasingly irrelevant. Meanwhile, of course, those wishing to avail themselves of this stupendous offer are welcome to do so.

RT is now overpriced for what it contains more than anything .Plenty of TV Guide competitors on the shelves.

The Radio Times offers free customisable listings online. Surely that's far more MSE? If you want a print alternative there are many cheaper ones.

    "Better" in what way?
The newspapers give away a free listings magazine every weekend.

I'm surprised any of the paid-for magazines still survive..,
With a weekly circulation of 577,087, Radio Times remains the top-selling consumer magazine in the UK according to auditor ABC. It's a far cry from its circulation peak in 1955 when average sales of 8.8 million gave the Radio Times the highest circulation in Europe.

    TV Times currently 197,153
