Owl have been selling online monitors for a number of years and have suddenly decided a subscription is needed. They say it has always been in the Ts&Cs but surely it is not ethical and is certainly outside of government guidelines. Until today there was no mention of subscription (other than buried in Ts&Cs) anywhere on the website. Their helpdesk also stated no subscription. Basically I have a heating control that I bought a year ago that is a brick unless I subscribe!

    Dashboard controls
Would really like to recive as much information as possible on how to set up an alternative to the owl dashboard. When I purchased mine I was told there was no intention of ever charging for the network and having read the reports dont want to be left with out a working system.

I'd love it if someone wrote an OpenHAB item for the Owl.

I too have solar PV and heating controls. Can get the data via the UDP so I could change the timers but I'd have to write the packets and send them manually...urgh
