Hmmm just went via Quidco.... could have sworn on the info page for Experian it said cashback was £7 on this when I clicked through.

Signed up for trial... now see it's tracking as 50p. Wondered what was going on.. went back to cashback page, and see the deal is now indeed for only 50p!

    feel slightly conned!

That sucks, looks like you just missed out by a few minutes.

Still says £7 on TCB although it also says expires on 23/01

Update: now 50p on TCB as well.

For those not in a hurry perhaps wait a few weeks and it will probably go back up when the mse mail effect wears out.

These people are very "reluctant" to cancel memberships it seems.
I spoke to a CS agent today who said something about it being in my best interest to log back into my account to update my previous (3rd & 4th) addresses(?) before i could cancel (They only asked for the most recent 2 on the application & seemed happy with that. Plus my previous addresses all show up in my credit records anyway)! So what's the deal there?

Anyway, I logged in & tried to add the 2 addresses, but it won't let me.

Phoned again & the agent said my cancellation has been put forward.
But by the tone of his voice, he didn't sound so sure he had done this - so i emailed Customer Services to ask them if i could have the cancellation confirmed in writing. Also requesting that my Credit Card details be removed from their system.

This is the response i got:

"We're sorry that you are thinking of leaving us.

In order for us to assist you with this request, please call us free on 0800 656 9000. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am until 6pm and Saturday 9am until 1pm.

As a member of CreditExpert you are able to monitor your Experian credit report and receive your personal alerts. It's important that you regularly check your membership for any outstanding alerts as these may indicate significant changes on your credit report, or attempted identity fraud".

Looks like i'll be phoning them once again. I wouldn't mind,........... but i didn't even do it through a cashback offer!

    To edit your details on CreditExpert, incase you dont know;
Click the home button, then click the update my details button on the middle right hand side of the page, then look for 'previous address information' box, at the bottom of that box click add. Wait 24-28 hours to be updated. Hope that helps you. Then monday/tuesday call up and cancel.

My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

Happens often when :money: Mails out to the masses, obviously companies have a certain marketing budget which mass :money: mailouts threaten to severely exceed.

thanks for the link with the info. yes I was unlucky indeed. Its a shame they dont put this information on the "click through" page, but tuck it away somewhere else where people might miss it. :-/

Tried to do that, but a mesage came up saying something like "sorry but you are not authorized to change/edit these details" yada yada.......

So i just phoned back & got the CS agent to change the details over the phone. Will wait a couple of days for their system to "update" then i'll cancel in a few days time.

    What a flamin' palavar!

£7 CB still available on TCB if you take out EQUIFAX free trial (only £5 on Quidco)

£0.50 on both for the experian one first mentioned on this forum.

I hope people aren't missing out on the EQUIFAX credit report. I got both and its much more detailed. Of course different institutions use different credit checking agencies, so some of your history will only be on experian and some only on equifax and vice versa. (don't forget little old Call Credit - but only a small fish)

Took out both free trials on Thursday night and experian still hasn't tracked through TCB. Equifax tracked yesterday (sat 24 jan).

It's not all that simple to get the Experian Credit Report. I submitted all my details and then was asked to send my passport or birth lines, a recent utility bill and a recent statement. I cancelled.
