:) It was my saturday morning to work today, so late start on the chores!

My stable has a few bits to finish- he forgot edging for roof/top door fittings, and small bit of fencing to join the stable so the area in front of the stable is fully fenced. Hope he doesnt take weeks to come back to finish off :(

My budgeting is going ok, just need to lose the last 1lb to meet my first weight loss challenge- i wanted to lose my first 7lb by tuesday 24th july- ive lost 6llb up to yesterday :T

Still awaiting quote for emmersion heater- needed asap, and the new full heating system replacement- which we plan for summer 2019..

Happy weekend everyone- must get stuck into chores, otherwise less time for getting outside in the sunshine :)

we have the next ten days off work :j

The fencing/stable guy is coming next thursday to hopefully get everything finished off , and im going to look at a lovely sounding cob tomorrow afternoon, so i might have my new horse next week to put in it!

We are awaiting the heating quote, but the one for the immersion heater has come in, and it is booked for august 1st, so once thats done we wont need to light the stove to heat the water, so it will soon pay for itself with the savings on fuel :T

My little old doggy is booked in for an op to remove a growth in her ear on monday poor lass, and poor us- £650 bill:eek:

A spendy month with this lot, i will have quite a lot of bits to buy for the horse if i get him too, but ive already saved the cash for this.

Im sticking to the cash only for fuel and food, it makes me focus on spending i think..

only lost half a pound this week, so need to lose another half pound to meet my 7lb loss by 24th july :( must try hard to do this

Got the letter from h.fax too , we have had a £20 payment from them, and monthly payment gone down by £42 a month, so thats good :)

Well hubby and i have been through the mill in the last few days since my last post..

on the 20th- date of my last post which was the friday we broke up from work, my husbands dad died in hospital, such a shock for us, we spent all that night at the hospital/with his mother..

on the way to break the news to his mum, my husband narrowly missed a head on collision with a out of control car full of young men, one who sadly was killed, one still in a serious state.. if my hubby hadnt rang his brother before setting off, the 20 second difference might have meant he was hit head on, it doesnt bare thinking about.

Since the night in the hospital both myself and hubby have been ill, flu like , upset stomach, throats raw, its been horrible, dont know if we picked some sort of bug up from there, i feel drained with it.

Poor mother in law isnt coping well, im having to sort all arrangements, its not been easy alongside feeling ill, but i keep thanking my lucky stars someone was watching over my husband to prevent him getting hurt or worse in that accident..

Along side this, in a cheerier note- i bought the lovely horse i tried - i nearly didnt go as we were exhausted on that saturday, but im glad i did, hes currently relaxing in our field, we have had to scrabble round to get hay, straw, electric fence, etc, but its kept our mind off things.

Another stress was on clearing the field to put the fence up, we foung what looked like the high voltage electric cable to our house, it had been worked to the surface by rabbit warrens
National grid had to come and inspect it, it turned out it was BT cable, so we could re- bury it safely before finishing electric fencing my new horses field :)

Today im trying to chill a bit, we have the death to register tomorrow, meeting to arrange funeral, oh and forgot another thing, the dog had op to remove lump in her ear on monday, and she has to go for check up tomorrow too!

These things are sent to test us, and the last 5 days have certainly done that!!

Need to sort horse insurance now, thats gone up loads since i last had one! good job the pleasure of horse ownership outweighs the pain..:rotfl:

Hopefully if im feeling better later im out on my first ride..:)

Went for a lovely ride this morning on my lovely horse, he is such a sweetheart, so well behaved- except for the occasional grass grab when we are having a relaxed walk :rotfl:

Father in laws funeral booked for 10th August, i think we all wont be able to stop thinking about this until that day has passed, he will be missed..:(

Made a £280 overpayment on my payday, the current outstanding balance is now £221,000, the direct debit hasnt gone out yet, or the interest, i will update my signature after the 1st August..:)

So sorry to hear of your FIL and hubby's near accident. It certainly sounds like someone was looking after him that night.

Sounds like your keeping busy, even though you are both under the weather, to say the least.

And nice to hear your goals are falling into place, even under sad circumstances.

Good to see that 000.00 at the end of your mortgage :D;)

Thanks for dropping by a frayed knot!

I havent updated my signature yet, must do that when i finished cleaning up!:)

A really busy/stressful week making arrangements and sorting FIL funeral/finances etc

The funeral directors have really disapointed me with the lack of support, and ive already had to make a formal complaint after they put the wrong date on the newspaper notice, my MIL was so upset. Disgusting service, no one to answer the phone , and all from a major company who spends lots on tv adverts saying how they make your final journey just how you want it!! they need to spend more on staff to answer the phone to customers instead of tv adverts!! Very heartbreaking to deal with on top of everything else..

On a happier note, my new horse is lovely, had another couple of hacks out this week, the flys were a nightmare though! if anyone has any idea of a fly repellant that works please let me know, ive spent a lot on two brands up to now, and they last approx 5-10 minutes, and i cover him in it!

Right, must get on, finish cleaning, the need to get some hay collected for the bottomless belly pit of my poppo!:rotfl:

Oh, just read your post about the arrangements for your FIL and the wrong date being published, not very professional and doesn't fill you with any confidence in them, although I'm sure they will double check everything after your complaint.

All you need on top of everything else, but at least you spotted the mistake and they have time to rectify it for you all.

Hi Sammy, just catching up after a long absence. So sorry to read about your FIL and also the poor service at such an emotional time from the undertakers. Thinking of you and your family.

It has been fab reading about all your adventures culminating in the arrival of your horse - how exciting. Your forever home sounds idyllic (and lots of hard work). Am looking forward to your continued adventures and MFW journey.
