Mortgage Exit Fee Query

Options
Hi,

I am trying to fillout Martin's template letter to claim back mortgage exit fee but I am struggling to figure out what the original charge was in my contract

Have looked through my paperwork from A & L for my mortgage taken out in 1999 and I can't find where it states what the mortgage exit fee is. On the reverse of my annual mortgage statements there are a list of service charges but no item says 'mortgage exit fee' or is for £295 as I was charged.

The only item on the charges I can see that would relate to the exit fee is 'Redemption and sealing of Deeds at £60 or £75.

I am trying to use Martins template letter and I am not sure how best to fill it out. Should I quote £60 as my guess as what the initial contract says or is it the case there was NO fee in the original contract, or leave the paragraph out about this completely!

Please help the confused!
