There's a new stock image site out 123stock.co.uk you could check that out to sell your images etc

Had a quick look, seems to have about 60 pictures in total; all the ones I looked at by some tog called Special Monkey, could not see anyone else on the site.

These new sites spring up every now and then and disappear again after a while. Problem is very few if any buyers will consider using these new sites until they have a wide selection of saleable pictures; and the togs who produce saleable pictures will not submit until they feel the buyers are looking there.
If you were looking for a picture for a magazine front cover where would you start 123stock with less than 100 pics or Alamy with over 65 million, or to take my speciality (flowers and plants) where would you look for a tulip, 123 stock with 1 picture and that not even keyworded as tulip but just flower or Gapphotos with over 5000 tulip pictures nearly all keyworded by species and/or cultivar.

    Hi All

I was just wondering if there is anybody out there who has used a stock site for selling their own photos?
I'm just wondering if anybody has recommendations of safe, easy to use sites that are good for a keen amateur who has the occasional decent pic but not going to be uploading hundreds a week.
All advice would greatly appreciated. :)

First Anniversary First Post Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Shutterstock is easy to set up but I have been uploading odd extra wedding photos (nothing major just detail shots etc) I've literally had 2 sales and it came to 50 cents...plus you need a min amount to withdraw. I have around 40-50 photos and honestly my photos are pretty good quality images as I used to be a professional photographer.

Unless you are planning on making it a real side income, like actually going out and shooting for stock (whilst researching what would sell) I wouldn't bother.
People don't know what they want until you show them.

I was aware that these sites normally have high and low demand items so just seeing if anybody had used them and what they have sold.
Going from your reply sounds like its not really worthwhile.

Fewgroats is this something you have done, I haven't got the time to mess around getting prints done etc just looking to sell the images themselves.

There is a thread about this; though has not had anything added for nearly two years.

    Threads have now been merged.

Some of the sites mentioned will probably no longer exist but might give you an idea of what is involved.

My DH takes amazing photos mainly of landscapes and the outdoors - is there anywhere decent to sell these?

    Thanks LP x

You could print and frame some, and take a stand at local craft shows or other events - one of my local steam fairs has an "arts and crafts" tent, and the local agricultural show.
