Had quite a nice day... Work went well, was home by 12.45 and then tackled the back garden, cut the very long grass and did a good tidy then sat out in the sunshine for 2 hours just relaxing. Then took the dog to the park for a potter around, picked up some groceries, came back and went for a 5k run - it was boiling!!! But I did it :)
Just waiting for tea to cook, then it's a bath and over to see OH who's been playing golf this afternoon. Think we'll both be worn out by mid evening, so a quiet night ahead I assume.

It's running club tomorrow morning and I'd like to watch the marathon while doing some work and filling out a job application or two. The house needs a Hoover and dust but I'll do that when the weather isn't as nice - making the most of the sunshine :)

Morning all! Up quite early today, stayed at OHs and was awake so got up to let him sleep, nothing worse than trying to be quiet when you're wide awake....
I'm off to running club at 8.30 - my legs feel stiff today so I'm not sure how well it will go but I'm going regardless. Then need to give the house a quick clean and do some washing and get a bit of work sorted out. The main focus for the afternoon is to get the job applications sorted - spoke to OH about it last night and he was surprisingly understanding - I'm not expecting much to come of it but I don't want to wonder "what if" if I don't do anything about it.
Might also look at holidays - the nice weather has spurred me on.;)
Also need to do a bit of preening - nails, toenails, face mask etc - I'm looking a bit tatty round the edges :)

Right, time for a quick shower, then whip the dog round the block and off to pound the mean streets....

    Just a quick update...
Running club went well - felt quite easy at the time but am tired now. Went for a cheap breakfast in a cafe with my running buddy afterwards, good to chat and keep the relationship going. I'm getting better at making an effort ;)

Have had a long bath and finished my current Val McDermid book - really good, had a twist at the end.
Have also managed to submit two job applications - they take ages to do! We'll see if anything comes of them but have found a few more too with closing dates later this week or next week.
Done a couple of hours of school work and walked the dog who seems tired today. Hope he's ok - just probably looking forward to sleeping in his own bed tonight hopefully.

Have managed to upset OH with a work email - stroppy texts have been received this afternoon - I've apologised profusely but anticipate a mammoth sulk this week now. Determined not to let it get me down - I said sorry for what wasn't a big deal but I know how he reacts. If he wants to strop let him get on with it. I'll get on with life without him.

On the down side, the washing machine appears to have died - it won't start. I've tried the usual turning it on and off but it's not having any of it :(
Will try to get someone to look at it but it might be cheaper to buy a new one - will have a look later on.
But being positive, I've registered for a Pretty Mudder for cancer research with two friends from work in July - should be fun if not knackering!!

I have an appointment with the consultant at the hospital tomorrow during which I think he's going to prescribe the tamoxifen - not looking forward to it but needs must.

This week doesn't look too bad - hopefully I'll get sometime to myself in the evenings. I want to go to running club on Tuesday and try to do some extra exercise in the week. I also need to get a few more applications done and get a load of marking out of the way.

Right, going to walk the dog again soon now the sun has come out and give the inside of the car a quick wipe out - mucky dog!

Hi Mumblingtaff, welcome back, just caught up with your new diary! I've missed your diary - yours was always one that I enjoyed reading.

So sorry to hear about your dad. My dad had his prostate removed about 7 years ago, his biopsies came back clear and he's been well ever since (apart from bladder problems which often happen after its removed). I'm so glad he decided to have it removed.

I'm inpressed with your determination to run. I ran quite a bit up until about 18 months ago, not great distances or anything but to be honest I never 100% enjoyed it and always felt like it was a chore. Spinning, zumba and walking have become my exercises of choice. I'm 49 now and have decided that my running days are over.

Glad to have you back and good luck tomorrow at your hospital appintment.

Thank you Louby! Great to see you again, I appreciate you popping in :)

So rather than stew about OH (who is now silent and ignoring me) I decided to take the dog for a walk in the evening sunshine to clear my head. I listened to some happiness and motivational podcasts whilst walking to "reset" my head - it worked - feel much better. Came home and dove into some cleaning - hoovering and dusting done, cleaned the wooden floors, tidied the kitchen, took tea out of the freezer for tomorrow and cleaned the downstairs loo. Feel much more in control now ;)

Have also researched new washing machines - not as expensive as I'd feared and as there's only me to wash for and not a family I don't need a super duper one. Will see if it's worth getting fixed and decide from there.

Having a glass of wine and planning the week ahead - feel a list coming on....

I'm sorry your OH is behaving like this, an apology should be enough.
Ignoring? Come on... All a bit passive aggressive.
Keep on doing what you're doing, you're an inspiration to me as to how much you get done :T:T:T

Positive vibes for the hospital appointment. You are so strong about this, I'm sure a positive attitude helps.
And oh dear about OH - hopefully time to sulk will become boring and he'll come to his senses but it does seem like such a waste of time.

Thanks Magician and Joey. Your support means a lot.

The hospital appointment went ok - the consultant was lovely and made it very easy. I'm now the proud owner of a course of tamoxifen to be started tomorrow. He ran me through the side effects again - it's probably not going to be pleasant but I'll give it a go.
The new person at work is rubbing everyone up the wrong way (including me) but I'm trying to be the better person. It's not good when two of your most hardworking staff come to you in tears ...... :(. In a very selfish way, I feel quite vindicated - but need to get a new job ASAP.

OH is still giving me the silent treatment apart from when he has
to speak to me about work issues - after today and the hospital stuff let him carry on - I can do it without him. Life is too short. I'm more important to me right now.
Phoned home and spoke to dad who has his appointment with the cancer specialist tomorrow - he's clearly nervous but trying to get on with it and make light of it but I know him better. Fingers crossed.

Managed to leave work at 5pm and took the dog to the park in the drizzle for a trot around - he seemed to really enjoy it, good to see him interested in things and loving his little life. I'd be lost without him.

Trying not to do any work tonight - I won't get thanked for it so am unofficially on a work to rule.... ;)
Going to watch the soaps and have a bath and have an early night with the new book - slept really poorly last night so will probably run out of steam by 9.30.
Tomorrow will be a better day ......
