MSE Poll: How did you fare financially in 2019?

Poll started 2 Jan 2020
At the start of the New Year, we wanted to find out if you're financially better off now than you were at the start of January 2019.

Whether you saved money, paid off debt, overspent, borrowed or had a pay rise, tell us how your household finances fared over the past year.
Did you vote? Are you surprised at the results so far? Have your say below.

If you haven't already, join the forum to reply.

Thanks! :)

    Pear shaped? ;)
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

It looks like it doesn't pay to be non-binary, the only group to be worse off.
A third of them are worse off, another third are confused.
  • I may have more money but as everything has gone up in price I'm now poorer than I was.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

I'd say I was the same.

I had a tiny pay rise but my work also moved offices which requires more of a commute which now costs me £200 a month. Plus eats up an additional 90mins of my day.

I'm glad to see most people's finances are in better shape than a decade ago - you'd expect that from MSE devotees :)
