Looks like either a broken screen or something's gone on one of the boards inside the TV.
Has it been dropped?
Does it do this on all inputs, HDMI, Freeview?0 -

I see it's a Sharp but what size is it, how much was it, how old is it ?

Capacitors in the power supply gone bad and supplying the wrong voltage/current? Common problem and cheap to fix.
Although I have seen a few bridge rectifiers gone bad in them also.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Remove video panel and put into oven for 15 minutes,dont laugh look on youtube.Worked for me
Sharp is no longer in business were sold to company that makes the iphone,understand Vestel in Turkey are now branding the TV0 -
